It's been 2 years since Bonnie and Damon sent Elena on a conquest for a new life and although things have been peachy for her, Bonnie's been finding it hard to cope and Damon hasn't made it any easier.

Bonnie created a spell that could turn Damon human enough for them to try and conceive a child and while at first it was some of the most exciting news that anyone had ever gotten, over time it caused them to grow apart.

Bonnie was just starting her life out, in her early twenties with a life that wasn't promised ahead of her, whereas Damon was on the opposite end of the spectrum. Waiting so long to complete his life he was in such a hurry to start a new chapter with the love of his life and their child but it wasn't that simple for Bonnie. She just wanted to live a little before being trapped for at least 18 years. Call her selfish but she couldn't help the way she felt.

Bonnie woke up to an empty bed, she sighed knowing that Damon was probably passed out on the couch from the amount of bourbon he binge drank the night before.

She walked to her bathroom and turned the shower on, she figured she might as well get her day started before going down to scold Damon about his poor decisions. She began to strip out of her clothes, watching herself in the mirror. She turned to the side and lay a hand on her flat stomach.

"One day Bonnie, one day" she quietly said to herself before getting in the shower.

Bonnie made her way downstairs expecting to see Damon but he wasn't there

She let out a huff of frustration and continued to the kitchen where she began making herself a cup of coffee.

Although things have been rough for some time Damon always came home, but this time he didn't. Bonnie tried her hardest to refrain from thinking the worst. she's far from insecure and she trusts him... well she did trust him.

Damon woke up in an unfamiliar bed, smelling an unfamiliar scent that he didn't like.
Noticing he was shirtless made his stomach turn. He was too afraid to look under the blanket to check if he had on pants. There was no way he could do that to Bonnie.

The door opened revealing a blonde haired woman holding a cup of coffee.

"Good morning sleepy head, I hate you coffee" she said with a smile as she handed it to him.

"Who are you and how did I get here?" He asked placing the coffee down. He wasn't going to drink a beverage from a stranger.

"I'm Chelsea, we met at the bar last night."

Damon tried to retrace his thoughts and remember but he just couldn't.

"Hey Chelsea, we didn't... you know... right?" He held his breath, scared of the answer.

"Oh god no, you were drunk off your ass telling me about how in love you are with someone and that you want to spend your life with her but you're a screw up. I would never knowing you're taken."

Damon let out the breath he was holding in relief.
"Thank you so much Chelsea but I have to go. You're a very kind woman for not taking advantage of the situation" he said before compelling her to forget about him.

Damon walked to the bar to pick up his car before he began his drive home.
Bonnie was going to be pissed and he didn't blame her. Things haven't been easy between them and he might've just made them worse.

Damon walked into their house quietly. He still smelled of bourbon and cheap perfume so he wanted to atleast clean himself before he faced Bonnie.

He went to the guest room to take a shower. After he was done he walked to the kitchen where he poured himself a fresh cup of coffee.

He gazed out the window to find Bonnie on the porch step looking out at the garden.

He walked out the back door and took a seat next to her. She looked at him without acknowledging him before she averted her gaze elsewhere.

"Where were you lastnight Damon? And don't you dare lie to me" Her tone wasn't one he was expecting. He thought she'd be a fiery ball of anger but she just sounded drained.

"I got too drunk at the bar and someone took me home with them. I promise you nothing happened, all I did was cry about how much I love you." He said truthfully.

"Damon I'm do tired of you doing this. You want a family so badly but you go out and get shit faced drunk every other night. You can't keep acting so reckless like you have nothing to lose" Bonnie had tears in her eyes. She was frustrated and all she wanted was for Damon to grow up.

"Babe I love you and I want to give you the family you want but I can't do that if you keep doing this. I need you here not out in the streets going home with random women. You need to change."

The pain in her voice did something to whatever was left of his soul. He wanted to be the good man that Bonnie deserves an needs.

"I promise I'm going to change Bon, I can't take the fact that I keep hurting you so it's all over. Today is day one of sobriety. I'm going to do whatever it takes to be a better man. I can't lose you Bon bon."

Bonnie took Damon's hand in hers and held it tightly. She lay her head on his shoulder to comfort them both.

"We're counting on you Damon."
