A woman's cry

You can put me in a box, but you can't break me.

Like Kunta Kinte, the slave of old, I will fight for my freedom.

I am a poet with a pen,

The equivalent of a sword in the hand of a warrior.

You can try, but you will NOT break me.

I refuse to be oppressed by your verbal shackles.

I am she.

Unique and strong-willed.

I have a voice and I will not relent until you acknowledge me.

You can torture me with your words but never will you break me.
