Grabbing Ashley's arms we run through the crowds towards our planned escape route. Pushing through the crowd and trying to be as subtle as possible. The less attention on us the better.

"Excuse me," I mutter as I brush by one of the wolves from the morning tables.

"Hey, Darling," he spins around and grabs my arm. My eyes widen in surprise. No no no, this can't be happening. We have to get out of here.

"I missed you this morning, think we should make up time..."he wiggles his eyebrows suggestively. I shiver goes down my body in disgust. His other hand wraps around my waist as he pulls me towards his body.

"Umm, actually. I have somewhere to be, sorry," I try to tug myself out of his grip and dart away.

"Busy with me Darling," he moves his head to my ear as he whispers into it.

I jerk away from him yet again to no avail. Swinging my knee up to where the sun doesnt shine I pull away as he grunts.

Ashley grabs my arm once again as a cammand rumbles through the air.

"No one leaves this room. You can not run, mate,"

Ashley stumbles. I quickly reach out and grab her arm pulling her back up.   The room is still silent as the wolves bow to their Alpha. Within seconds guards appear in every doorway and possible exit.

A shuffle goes through the crowd as the Apha starts moving. He crowd murmuring amoung themselves as they maneuver their way out of his path. He was like Mosses parting the Red Sea.

Swiftly, we join the crowd and push to the outside, getting closer to the wall. Pushing against the secret maids door Ashley fumbles with the wall trying to open it.

Suddenly we fall into the wall as the door swings open. A thud echos across the ball room and all eyes turn towards us.

"Go," one of us spoke the commanding word that unfroze our bodies.

"Mine," a deep voice growled in my ear seconds before Ashley flipped the door closed and locked it.

My body shook as his voice repeated in my head. Mine. I was his mate, whoever he was. I was going to be owned. A dog was going to own me. We needed to leave. Now.

"Let's go," my voice shook as I spoke. We booked it down the dark hall going deeper into the walls of the castle. My heart rate sped up as I heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps following behind. Grabbing at each other we took a sharp right off the main hallway and towards the outside of the castle. This was treason, punishable by anything your mate desired. Girls weren't allowed to run, or fight, or have thoughts. Not here in the werewolf world.

The further we ran the darker it got until Ash and I were guiding by the walls. Left turn, left turn, right turn. Our hands connected in the middle as we each guided a hand on the walls to find our turns.

Growls followed us, getting gradually louder the further we went. My body felt a need to stop, to let them catch up. But my mind told me to run, so I did.

Our feet pounderd on the ground as the floor turned into dirt. The river was up here soon. We have to make it to the river.

"Up there, I see it," Ash's voice gasped out in between breaths as we sprinted faster.

Get to the river. Get the boat. Get to the river get the boat. I chanted in my mind.

The darkness became slightly lighter as we approached the river. Our hands disconnected as we sprinted to the little dingy tied to a pole in the dirt. I had to untied the boat while Ashley stabilized it and brought it closer to shore so we could get on.

I fumbled with the knot as Ashley splashed into the water. Quickly pulling it off the pole I jumped into the boat as Ashley started climbing in.

We push off the shore and start rowing down the stream. As soon as our small boat makes it out towards the center of the river 2 wolves burst through the tunnel and throw themselves into the water.

I keep rowing. My hands shake with each pull of the oar.

Further down the stream. I keep telling myself. It gets rougher, to rough to swim. That's our escape. I'm silently praying that it's too rough to swim for wolves as well. Especially an Alpha, if he catches us we are both screwed. I don't know what would happen. Alphas are explosive, mostly wolf.

"Just a little further....C'mon," Ashley mutters under her breath. I glance over at her. Her hair matted back with sweat as she pushes to get it freedom. My own face glistening as my arms worked double time.

The wolves growl in the water behind us as the get closer. Their werewolf strength giving them the energy to not only keep up but slowly gain on us. I stare forward.

All of a sudden the boat tips towards me. My arms flap in the air as I jerk inwards towards the center of the boat. My hand slips on the oar and it falls into the water. Grabbing at Ashley's dress to keep me in. The movement sends us lurching her way. The water around us violently shaking as we huddle in towards the center of the boat. Ashley pulling in the last oar onto her lap.

The growling stops behind us as the guys get stuck at the wall of waves. My eyes squeeze shut as water splashes in my face. The boat lurching side to side.

"They're gone. There's no way they can swim through this," I scream over the sound of the water.

"Yeah, but can we make it through this?" She yells back, voicing my doubts.
