Sorry that last chapter was short, I needed a smoother way to transition into this point of view. Plus, all of my chapters have been so close to being 2000 words long so there's no harm in that, right?
(Name) POV
"Lord Almighty..." Hank ssid as I seen the large amount of pigeons sitting there. The smell wafted to my nose and I did not like the smell one bit. The sour smell of pigeon waste and the dirty smell of the birds did not mix, making the ultimate nose hair killing smell.
I walk around, inspecting the area and seeing a lot of things to look at. I started by opening the closet, not seeing anything useful in there. I look over to see Connor rip off the poster on the wall and pull out a book and open it. "What's that?" Hank asks Connor and Connor knits his brows together. Him knitting his brows together caused me to raise mine in surprise. Who knew that an Android could seem so... So human at times. "I think I found it's diary" Connor answered and I get another idea on where to look.
I go to the fridge and open it, seeing how bare it was. To me, I figured that it was an Android. Yes, a human could have done this but not a single trace of food for a human was found in the fridge. My next inspection was the cupboards, wondering if there could have been something there. My theory seemed to be right, seeing as this apartment's owner didn't have food. Connor seemed to notice this as well and went into the bathroom with Hank following behind him. "His LED is in the sink" Connor noted as they found a lot of writing on the wall. "ra9" I whispered and they further inspected the bathroom. I heard a quiet noise above and went to find the cause and it lead me to the open hole in the corner of the apartment that a whole person could have went into.
I looked closer and seen a part of an arm almost until the silhouette moved and jumoed down, landing on me and got up and ran. "He's running!" I shout as I chase after the deviant, Hank and Connor also running after as I see the deviant going through a building as I chase after, taking the safer route and going around and up a ramp. I keep eyes on the deviant and Connor takes the risky but quicker way and Hank trails behind. I pace myself and see the deviant leap off the building onto a glass roof and begins to slide, Connor jumping with and I made a split second I to go after, leaving Hank behind.
I land on the train and the deviant runs, jumping onto a ladder as I do the same and notice how batshit crazy I must be in order to do this. I see Connor catching up and we break through some doors. We break through the door at the same time and see the deviant push Hank and cause him to fall and hold onto the side of the building. "Get Hank! I'll catch the deviant!" I yell to Connor as I proceed chasing the deviant, feeling those years of track and field in the past coming for me. If only all my gym teachers would have seen me now...
I reach the last building and the deviant stops, turning towards me as he holds this innocent look in his eyes. "Please..." He begs and I began to feel pity for him. I notice Connor and Hank haven't cane yet so I try something that I could possibly loose my job for. I see a garbage truck below us and I hope that it won't hurt him. "Jump before they come" I tell him, hoping he follows and sees the garbage truck. He catches on and I give him a look that tells him to hurry. He hurries up and jumps, me seeing how he lands and has seen him land safely. Hank and Connor arrived and looked over to see what I was watching.
We ssw the deviant get out of the truck and run away, looking up at us breifly. He then ran away quickly, disappearing among the people as Hank curses. "What the hell happened?" Hank asked and I kept looking in the direction the deviant went. "He jumped once I cornered him... Somehow he survived" I say, not making eye contact but still watching the crowd. "Man... You should've gotten me up sooner" Hank said as a sharp pain was felt in my abdomen. I crouch down into a ball and I hold my stomach in pain. I hiss and I reached my hand up to the railing of the building. I squeezed the railing, feeling the pain cone over me as I squeeze my eyes shut.
"Oh shit..." Hank had mumbled before going over to me and crouching down to ny level. "Are you going to be alright (Name)?" Hank asked, grabbing my shoulder. I didn't respond, only get into an even tighter ball. "(Name), do you wish for me to carry you?" Connor asked and I shook my head. I tried to get up, feeling the pain come over me and cause me to curl back up. "Just... Just give me a minute" I huff out, not liking this at all. Connor then picked me up and began to walk with me as Hank walked alongside him. "We shouldn't have brought you along on this" Hank said with a frown. "No don't say that, I'm okay." I say and hiss in pain once more. "Put me down Connor" I demand and he doesn't put me down. "It is not a good idea for you to walk under this circumstance, especially after that amount of strenuous exercise you have just done." Connor advises.
"For once, I think you should listen to Connor" Hank suggests and I knew I wasn't going to win this argument. I sigh as the cramp pain feels less and less hurtful. "I'm not hurting, now you can put me down" I say to Connor and he shakes his head. "It will be fine (Name), just stay relaxed" Connor says and I uncurl from the ball, causing Connor to have to carry me bridal style. 'Curses I thought that would cause him to put me down' I think as I huff in annoyance.
We arrive in the barren parking lot and see no other car around as I squirm a bit in Connor's arms. "Let me go" I tell Connor. "That is not a wise decision (Name)" Connor replies. "Let me go Connor" I demand once more, Hank just chuckles at the entire thing. We were still a while to go before we got to the car. Hank walked a bit ahead as he was busy fishing his keys out of his pocket. "Let me go Connor" I demand again and he looks down at me with a cold glare. "No" he replies simply, his dark eyes staring into my very soul as he spoke. As if he was commanding my very soul and it slightly chilled me. I still didn't let that stop me though.
Hank got to the car and unlocked it right as I squirmed and jumped out of Connor's arms. I ran to the car and got into the front passenger seat and Connor made longer strides than usual on order to get into the car. "You did not call shotgun (Name)" Connor said, almost like he didn't just try to squeeze the rebellious side of me out of existence just a minute ago. "I arrived here first though" I countered and he didnt say another word after that. We arrived back at my house and I was beginning to get out. "Are you guys going to do anymore cases for today?" I ask and Hank shakes his head. "Not any I can think of. Why don't you get some rest, alright (Name)?" Hank asks and I nod, knowing that might be the last thing I'd do today.
"Right..." Hank starts as I was walking to my house. "Connor, go keep an eye on her. Make sure she doesn't tire herself out too much today and if I need you both I'll send communication to Connor" Hank says and I groan. "But I'm not a child Hank, I'm twenty-" "-four I know that. But you're too fragile to be working yourself half to death (Name) and you know it. Connor is staying to watch over you for today and that's an order" Hank says and I press my lips into a thin line. I can't argue with the fact that he is my higher up and I was just given a command. "Yes sir" I respond, Connor following me to my house and I open my door and let Connor inside.
"So... What do you want to do?" I ask
