Mikey and I got around 2 gallons of paint for each room, so around 4 gallons of paint. We get into the car and are driving home singing along to the songs playing on the radio. Once we make it home we pick which rooms are for which kid. Mikey and I live in a two-story house with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, a garden that’s fenced in, and a garage. Mikey and I don’t have super high paying jobs but we were in a band for years with Brook, Rye, and Jack so we made a good amount of money. All of the bedrooms are upstairs so we will pick out of the 3 extra rooms. There is the master suite for Mikey and I that has its own bathroom and another bathroom in upstairs, the final is downstairs. I choose Jaidan’s room and it is the one closest to ours and Mikey chose Maya’s which is across from Jaidan’s. I leave the Orchid paint in Maya’s room and the Seafoam paint in Jaidan’s. While Mikey and I wait for the boy’s to arrive we are cuddling on the sofa scrolling through our social medias. I am laughing at how many people are freaking out over what I posted and Mikey finally realized what I was laughing at. Mikey started blushing and hid his face in my neck saying “Andyyy,” I laugh and run my fingers through his curls.
“You are so adorable, I couldn’t help it.” I say still laughing.
“We hate to interrupt this moment, but lets get this going.” Harvey says walking in with Brooklyn at his side. I kiss Mikey and get up doing my handshake with Brook and hug Harvey.
“Okay so did Rye and Jack tell you two that you are Jaidan’s godfathers.” Mikey says to them. They both stand there for a second before they start shouting and yelling before hugging us.
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Brook says before Harvey pries him off of us.
“Calm down Brooky,” he says hugging Brook and rocking them both back and forth. I take a picture and send it to Harvey and Brook, then pocket my phone.
“We’re here,” Rye says walking in just like Harvey and Brook did.
“Okay since everyone is here we are splitting up.” I say looking at all of them.
“Brook, and Rye you are staying here with me to paint. Harvey and Jack are going with Andy to go shopping for baby stuff.” Mikey says before leading Rye and Brooklyn into Jaidan’s room first.
“Okay ladies, let’s get moving.” I say trying to look serious before bursting out laughing along with Jack and Harvey. We all walk out to each of our cars and drive to Babies R’ Us because we are going to need as many cars as we can get. We all arrive after ten minutes of driving.
“So who do you want to shop for first Andy?” Jack asks me.
“I think we should do Jaidan first as he will need the most stuff.” I say grabbing a cart along with Harvey and Jack. We walked down the isles with clothes first picking out several outfits, tops, bottoms, shoes, hats, pyjamas, and winter clothes. On the way to the furniture I grab a case of diapers for both Jaidan and Maya. “Okay so now we are here we can start getting stuff for both Maya and Jaidan.” I say looking at all the cribs and high chairs.
“Okay you want us to take care of Jaidan’s stuff and you do Maya’s?” Jack asks and I nod handing him Jaidan’s file because that shows all of the things Jaidan will need and his sizes.
“Thank you both for being here.” I say hugging Jack and Harvey.
“It’s no problem Andy, we wouldn’t be anywhere else.” Harvey says before pulling Jack away to go shopping for Jaidan. I smile and go to the cots first because toddler beds are there as well. I immediately notice a light pink polka dot duvet with matching pillows. I throw it into the cart and lift a light yellow toddler bed onto the bottom of the cart. I get a text from Mikey saying they are done with the first coat on Jaidan’s room. I text back saying we are almost done so we should be back in time to help with Maya’s room. I pocket my phone and go over the the highchairs. I look around and see a chair that has a strap with little steps for seats and it is perfect. I put the box on top of the one for the bed and get a couple bibs from where I’m at. I also see a changing table that would go well with the theme of Maya’s room, so I put it in the pile of boxes under my cart basket. I grab a car seat for Maya and a carrier for Jaidan, along with a stroller with two seats. I notice Jack and Harvey are still picking out furniture for Jaidan’s room so I go and start picking out clothes for Maya. I buy dresses, skirts, tops, bottoms, shoes, hats, pyjamas, and winter clothes. Walking back over to the boys I notice a adorable white dresser that is covered in a pattern of flowers and fairies. I put the box in with the others feeling content with all the furniture. Realizing we need food and bottles I go to the food isles. I buy puffs, baby food, spoons, bottles, formula, bowls, plates, and basically the entire isle. When I make it back to Jack and Harvey they seem to be done so I say “Are we all done?”
They say “All we need are toys.” How could I forget about toys, but that’s what Jack and Harvey are for.
“Thank god for you two, I forgot about toys.” I say and they smile leading the way to the toy isle. When we get there we each pick out four toys for each kid, so they each get 12 toys total. Jack quickly grabs a couple baby monitors and dummies. Harvey grabs two night lights one is a fairy and the other is a boat. I honestly don’t know what I would be doing without my friends, I would be a mess. “Is that it?” I ask laughing at how forgetful I am.
“Yup.” Harvey says and we all go to the cashier to pay. Let me tell you that was not easy, we had so much stuff.
“Okay ladies, how the fuck are we going to fit this stuff into our cars?” I ask because we all brought small cars.
“I honestly don’t know,” Jack says looking between the carts and our cars.
“Okay we each will put the stuff from our carts into our own cars so there shouldn’t be a problem, whoever has extra room tell us so we can put more in.” Harvey says figuring out a solution easily. Jack and I both nod and start stuffing our cars and we actually manage to fit everything.
“I’m so tired.” I say and they both nod before getting into their cars. My phone starts ringing and I put it on speaker.
“Hey babe, you done?” Mikey says.
“Yea finally, I’m so tired.” I say turning off the music.
“Aw baby, when you get home I’ll help you get everything out okay.” Mikey says and I sigh.
“You’re amazing, but how are you feeling after all that painting?” I ask concerned.
“My back is starting to hurt but other than that I’m fine.” Mikey says making me relax.
“Good, okay babe, I’m almost home so I will talk to you when I get back.” I say pulling into our neighborhood.
“Okay baby, I love you.” Mikey says.
“I love you too.” I say before hanging up. I pull into my driveway with the others so I go and unlock the door. “Mikey, we’re home!” I shout and I hear multiple footsteps run down the stairs. Mikey, Rye, and Brook come down the stairs shirtless and covered in paint. “Geez, how much paint actually got on the walls?” I ask taking multiple pictures as they look utterly ridiculous.
“Most of it.” Brook says blushing because Harvey had started checking him out. I laugh at how shy Brook is even though Brook and Harvey have been married for around three years.
“Don’t be shy, love.” Harvey says hugging Brooklyn close to him.
“I-I’m not” Brook responds stuttering, an old habit of his when he’s nervous or shy.
I whisper to Harvey “You’re making him nervous,” and Harvey kisses Brook’s forehead saying
“I’m sorry, love.” Brook just cuddles Harvey and they both seem content like that.
“Rye,” Jack sighs hugging him tightly. Jack has slight anxiety when away from Rye for too long, but it’s nothing major. I smile at how gentle Rye is with Jack. I love taking pictures if you haven’t noticed so I took one of Rye and Jack and one of Brook and Harv.
“You look ridiculous, babe.” I say laughing and kiss Mikey’s cheek.
“And you look exhausted, Andy.” Mikey says caressing my cheek.
I nod and ask “Can we just finish painting then take a nap?” Mikey nods kissing my forehead before we all go upstairs and start on Maya’s room.
“This should be easier with so many of us here.” Rye says opening one can of paint. Mikey and Brook agreeing with what he was saying. We all start painting the walls and it’s really coming together. We finished both coats after two hours of painting.
“I’m showering and then taking a nap, you all can stay over until we finish setting up the rooms if you want.” I say yawning. Everyone says their staying so they camp out on the couch already passed out. I stifle another yawn and just skip the shower and lay down in bed quickly falling asleep when Mikey joined me.
