Chapter 4

It’s finally the day Mikey and I can get Maya and Jaidan, and I am so excited. All the boys have come over because they really want to meet them. I am setting up the carrier for Jaidan and the carseat for Maya before we go. Mark texted me that they were both ready to go and are in the playrooms or nursery in Jaidan’s case. Once the seats were set up I ran inside and grabbed Mikey’s hand pulling him out to the car. “I’m coming babe, slow down.” Mikey says intertwining our fingers making me stop pulling. I kiss Mikey before getting in the car tapping my feet impatiently.

“Hurry up Mikey.” I say when he gets in the car and starts it.

“I know you’re excited but calm down.” Mikey says rubbing my thigh affectionately which helped me relax.

“Sorry,” I whisper leaning over and kissing his cheek.

“It’s okay baby.” Mikey says intertwining our fingers again. I turn on the radio to give myself a good distraction while we drive the ten minutes it takes to get there. When we do get there I quickly get out of the car waiting for Mikey to get out as well. Mikey walks over to me and we walk up to the door together before opening it. We walk in and wave to Mark grabbing the bags with Jaidan’s and Maya’s stuff. We walk down to Maya first so we go to the toddler corridor. When we get to the playroom I open the door and immediately spot Maya playing with a group of boys and one girl. I believe the girls name is Robin with her twin brother Elijah and another boy named Reagan. Maya soon sees us with her stuff and runs up to us putting her arms up for Mikey to hold her. “Hi princess.” Mikey says carrying her on his hip.

“Hi!” Maya says holding onto Mikey’s shirt with her head on his shoulder.

“Maya, from now on you are going to be living with us.” I say wrapping an arm around Mikey.

“L-Like a-adopten?” Maya asks and I’m surprised she knows what we are talking about.

“Yeah it is just like adoption.” Mikey says tossing her into the air and catching her. Maya squeals and wraps her arms around Mikey’s neck to hold on. I kiss Mikey on the cheek and we carry Maya down to the nursery so we can pick up Jaidan.

“I big siser?” Maya asks pointing towards the nursery.

“Yup you are getting a baby brother.” I say opening the door finding Jaidan’s cot quickly. I notice Jaidan is awake this time and he has gorgeous grey eyes and he is so tiny. Mark said Jaidan was born early because the hospital called the orphanage when he was born. Jaidan’s mother left him there after giving birth to him two months early and once he was stable enough to survive he was sent to this orphanage. I gently pick up Jaidan and hold him close to my chest, rocking him back and forth. “Hi Jaidan, I’m your daddy and that is your papa.” I say to him and he grabs my finger smiling at me.

“This is Maya your big sister.” Mikey says letting Maya see Jaidan for the first time. Mikey sent me a picture of me holding Jaidan and Jaidan grabbing my finger. I kiss Jaidan and Maya on the head and peck Mikey on the lips. “Let’s go home.” Mikey says still holding Maya and we both walk out with our two babies. When we walk into the lobby Mark is there and Jacob and Luca are there too.

“Hey buddy.” I say ruffling Luca’s hair and giving Jacob a hug while holding Jaidan.

“So it’s true, you guys are really adopting.” Jacob says waving towards Maya who said hello.

I smile nodding and look towards Mark saying “Thank you so much Mark.” Jacob smiles and picks up Luca who is five and stands next to Mark.

“It’s no problem, give them a good life.” Mark says kissing Maya’s forehead and stroking Jaidan’s cheek.

Mikey waves to Mark and Jacob and says “Say bye Maya.”

Maya hides her face in Mikey’s neck shyly saying “Buh-Bye.” I smile and walk out with Mikey following me after saying his goodbyes and thank you’s to Mark. I open the door behind the passenger seat and put Jaidan in his carrier, making sure he is strapped in correctly. I saw that Mikey was struggling with Maya’s car seat so I close the door and walk over to him telling him what to do.

“Thanks babe.” Mikey says blushing and successfully strapping in Maya. Mikey and I got in our seats and once we started driving I gave Maya her monkey stuffie and Jaidan his lion stuffie.

“Daddy” I hear Maya say and I start tearing up.

“Yes Monkey?” I ask.

“I luf oo.” Maya says not being able to pronounce the words correctly.

“I love you too.” I say turning around and smiling at her.

“I luf oo papa.” Maya says after I turn around.

“And I love you princess.” Mikey says looking at her through the mirror. I wipe my eyes and notice Mikey started crying. I wipe Mikey’s tears and rub his thigh gently. I text Rye telling him we are pulling up to the house now. Mikey opens the garage and parks the car and gets out. I open my door and get out so I can get Jaidan. I unbuckle him from his carrier and hold him on my hip and my other hand holds up his head. “Let’s go meet your uncles.” Mikey says carrying Maya into the house where the boys are. I walk inside with Jaidan and find all the boys in the living room talking with Mikey and Maya.

“Hi sweetheart I’m your uncle Jack and this is your other uncle Rye my husband.” Jack says taking Maya from Mikey and holding her on his hip.

“I’m your uncle Brook and this is my husband Harvey your other uncle.” Brooklyn says standing next to Harvey in front of Maya. I pass Jaidan over to Mikey and ask Jack if I could have my daughter.

“Daddy, I wike ‘em.” Maya says pointing at the boys who are now obsessing over Jaidan.

“They like you too, Monkey.” I say tickling Maya before putting her down so she can play. I take a picture of the boys playing with Jaidan and Maya and post it to our group instagram with the caption Proud uncles met Maya and Jaidan today-Andy.
Maya Rosalie Cobban and Jaidan Thomas Cobban welcome to our family.
