Chapter 8

Later during the day I had put Jaidan down for his nap and went to check on my other boys. I walk into the living room finding Mikey and Keegan awake and cuddling. "Hey monkey, feeling any better?" I ask kneeling down in front of him.

Keegan nods but says "My head hurts daddy." I frown and kiss his forehead checking his fever.

"Your not as warm baby." I say brushing his hair from his face.

"I think the medicine really helped him." Mikey says rubbing Keegan's side still cuddling him.

"Yeah, I don't know what caused you to feel so icky baby." I say walking into the kitchen to get more medicine for Keegan.

"I looked up his symptoms while he was sleeping and it sounds like the flu, so we are going to need a doctors appointment." Mikey says from the living room.

"I agree babe." I say while measuring out the medicine Keegan needs.

"Do you want me to make an appointment and ask Harvey if him and Brook could watch Jaidan?" Mikey asks me knowing we both will be going to the doctors with Keegan.

"That would be great babe." I say kissing Mikey quickly before giving Keegan the medicine. "Drink all of it, baby." I say walking away so I can get the thermometer. Once I grab the thermometer from the upstairs bathroom I go back downstairs to Keegan. "Open wide Keeg" I say to Keegan while Mikey is on the phone with the doctor. The thermometer beeps and I read the flashing numbers that say 37.67 degrees Celsius which is a lot better than before.

"The appointment is set up for 1:10 so in half an hour. We will need to drop Jaidan off before that though." Mikey says messing with his hair.

"Okay I will get Jaidan ready, can you get Keegan ready?" I ask Mikey.

"Yeah no problem babe." Mikey says picking up Keegan and going up to Keegan's room with Keegan clinging like a baby koala. Before I even wake Jaidan I pack up his diaper bag with what little things he will need for Harvey's. I put the diaper bag in the car and go back inside up to Jaidan's room.

"Wake up Jay-Jay." I say rubbing his tummy.

"Daddy, uppy." Jaidan says lifting his arms. I pick up Jaidan and cradle him in my arms.

"Are you wet baby?" I ask feeling his nappy.

"No daddy!" Jaidan says happily clapping his hands.

"Good job Jay-Jay, I'm proud of you." I say tickling him and lay him on the changing table.

"I dry Daddy?" Jaidan asks confused as to why he's on the changing table.

"I know but we are going out to see Uncle Harvey, Uncle Brooky, and Zandy." I say strapping him onto the table while I pick out his clothes.

"See Zandy!" Jaidan squeals happily.

"Yeah baby, we are going to see Zandy." I say walking back to Jaidan and unstrap him changing him into jeans, t-shirt, and converse. "There you go Jay-Jay" I say picking him up and carrying him downstairs.

"Keeg." Jaidan says reaching out for Keegan to hold him.

"Sorry baby, Keeg is icky and we don't want you feeling icky too." Mikey says to Jaidan.

"M' tired Papa" Keegan says yawning.

"You can take a nap in the car Keeg." Mikey says rubbing his back comfortingly.

"You can have Nanna too." I say because we took Nanna away when he turned six and only give it to him when he really needs it.

"Leo." Jaidan says pointing to himself meaning he wants Leo.

"You can have Leo, Jay-Jay." I say starting to get everyone in the car. I get in the driver's seat and turn to Mikey asking "Could you tell Harvey we are on our way to drop of Jaidan." Mikey nods pecking my lips and pulls out his phone to text Harvs. "We should be at his house in five minutes." I say to Mikey quietly as Keegan has fallen asleep.

"Got it." Mikey says before putting his phone away. Mikey started tapping his fingers on the arm rest so with my free hand I hold his.

"Babe, Keegan is okay." Squeezing Mikey's hand I say "You need to relax."

"I know, but he has never actually been sick with us yet, only Jaidan has." Mikey says which is true, Keegan is a generally healthy kid. I nod focusing back on the road but continue holding Mikey's hand until we get to Harvey and Brook's house. Mikey gets out so he can drop Jaidan off and is back in the car in a couple minutes. I start the fifteen minute drive to the doctor's office and talk with Mikey the entire way. "You want to wake him or should I?" Mikey asks me when I park the car in front of the pediatricians.

"I will." I say already opening the door for Keegan. "Hey Monkey can you wake up for Daddy?" I ask unclipping him from the car-seat.

"Mmm... Daddy?" Keegan asks groggily holding up his arms to be held.

"I got you Monkey." I say holding Keegan in my arms and kiss his head.

"Ready to go babe?" Mikey asks me and I nod walking next to him into the doctor's office. Keegan has a female doctor so he will feel more comfortable during physicals. "Hello we have an appointment for Keegan Cobban at 1:10." Mikey says checking Keegan in.

"Wanna color baby?" I ask sitting down with Keegan in my lap.

"Jus' cuddles." Keegan whispers snuggling into my lap.

"I can do that." I say wrapping my arms around him. Mikey soon joins us on the small couch wrapping his arm around my shoulders. I kiss Mikey's neck quickly before returning my attention to the boy in my lap.

"Keegan Cobban." A nurse says from the doorway and Mikey and I get up, Keegan in my arms.

We had left the doctors and they confirmed our suspicions that Keegan had the flu. Currently we are on the way to fill his prescription and then are going to get Jaidan. Once we had gotten Keegan's medicine I texted Brook saying we are on our way to get Jaidan.

I got an okay in reply from Brook and heard "D-daddy." I turn around to see Keegan trying to reach something on the floor.

"What's wrong baby?" I ask seeing Keegan still trying to reach something.

"Nann-na fell." Keegan says pointing to the floor in the middle.

"I'll get her baby." I say grabbing Nanna and giving her to Keegan.

"Th-hank you d-daddy." Keegan says relaxing into his car-seat.

"Your welcome monkey." I say rubbing his shoe gently.

"Lov-ve you Daddy, you too P-papa" Keegan says before falling asleep again.
