Chapter 12

Keegan's POV:

It's been a couple weeks since I came out to my dads. Things have been the same except my dads told the rest of the family before I had the chance so now practically everyone knows. Word got out at school but most people don't care it is 2018 after all. (Pretend they are in our time but most people are like super accepting) Most of my friends have same-sex parents and their parents are friends with my dads. Now that everyone knows I'm gay, Eli came out too. We are known as the 'it' couple around school. I'm currently at lunch with my friends Elijah, Robin, and Raegan. We have a lot of classes together and they help me out if anyone tries to bully me.

"Hey Keeg have you thought about joining any sports for the summer or spring?" Raegan asks me. Everyone knows I'm good at footy but I really only do it for fun with my dads or Jay. I think about it and shrug.

"I might do footy because I love it but I don't know. I would have to talk to my dads about it too." I say after a bit of thinking.

"You should join, you are so good!" Elijah exclaims smiling brightly and pulls me closer to his side.

"Yeah and I am in band so we would see each other at the games too!" Robin says smiling as well. I grin slightly and eat my salad while considering my options.

"It would give me something to do and I could see you guys more often." I say slowly and come to the decision of joining the footy team if my dads let me.

"So you in?" Raegan asks leaning in. I nod and cringe when they start shouting and cheering.

"Be quiet, I still need to talk to my dads." I say quietly. After school ended I waited at the gates of the school for my friends, my brother, along with his friends.

"Keeg, over here!" I look over to the voice and see Jaidan with Zander, Ryder, and Scout. I jog over and wrap my arm around Jaidan's shoulder, ruffling his hair a bit.

"How was school?" I ask a protective tone in my voice.

"The usual" Jaidan replies smiling up at me. I smile back at him and spend the next ten minutes talking with them.

"Guys, hurry up!" I hear Robin shout from the gates.

"Let's not make her mad, come on." I say speed walking to Robin and them. I jump onto Elijah's back wrapping my arms around his neck.

"Warn me next time okay?" Eli says holding onto my legs, smiling up at me.

I nod and say "Forwards!" I giggle when Elijah starts running towards our first stop which is Scout and Ryder's house. "Hurry up slowpokes!" I shout getting off of Eli's back. Ryder, Raegan, and Scout run up to us panting trying to catch their breath.

"I am NOT RUNNING!" Robin shouts slowly walking with Jaidan and Zander. I laugh and text Jay to pull Robin along to us faster. I see Jaidan look at his phone and whisper to Zander what I told him. They fist bump and each grab an arm of hers and pull her along while they run. "KEEGAN YOU BETTER NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS!" Robin yells and runs at me. I shriek and hide behind Elijah who smiles down at me.

"Save me Eli!" I say and grab onto his arm.

"Robin, calm down okay" Elijah says hugging his twin which helped her calm down.

"We have to go now!" Ryder says hugging all of us as does Scout.

"See you at school!" I say waving at them.

"Now to our houses!" Zander says skipping down the sidewalk with Jaidan walking next to him. I smile and walk with my head facing up at the sky. I feel something be placed on my head and reach up to see what it is. I realize it's a flower crown someone had made. I look around and see Elijah blushing and looking down. I smile and poke his arm gaining his attention.
