Sally's P.O.V.
I growled in frustration as I looked around at the five bikers who were surrounding me.
"We've come a long way to catch you, girl. Running away from team ST was the first mistake you did. Now surrender", One on my left said.
"Leave me alone! Tell your leader he can forget about me cuz I'm never coming back!" I shouted in anger and decided it was an ideal time to activate my move.
I had only tried it once a few weeks back but had failed. I could only trust the training I had and it was my only chance of escape. I took a deep breath.
"Ready Red Phoenix? Let's go! Flames of Light!" I yelled and my bike seemed to be pushed by an invisible force. I gasped as my body and bike were covered in a warm comforting orangish glow. Obviously, I was the only one who felt 'warm and comforting' as my bike sped forward at a speed hard to control. I almost fell off.
It worked?? It worked!! Yes!! Thank you for the training!
I soon left the forest and was in a sleepy little town. I pedaled slow, looking for an inn or something.
"Sally Yamato", a voice said but my vision was getting blurry from not sleeping for the last few days. I turned to the masked figure who was wearing all yellow, I think. I looked at him through half closed eyes as I got off my bike.
"I... oh...", I said as my bike fell on the street and I fell into the boy's arms, unconscious.
Kyoichi's P.O.V.
Sally just fell in my arms and Red Phoenix clattered to the ground with a thud.
"Sally.. you okay?" I asked softly as I lightly shook the limp girl but noticed she was unconscious.
How long did this girl not sleep?
I put my hand to her head and immediately jerked it away with wide eyes. She was burning hot!
I picked her up as she shivered and wrapped my cape on her body as tiny clouded puffs of air left her mouth. I took her to the nearest place of the girl mechanic closest to a doctor in this town, Ms. Yuki.
"Oh my gosh, what happened to her?" Miss Yuki asked as she took the shivering girl from me.
"I have no idea, but I found her like this. Can you take care of her?" I said in a monotone voice, though inside I was worried about my best friend.
"I think so", Yuki said as she took her to another room.
"Please wait here for a while", she said and handed me a cup of coffee. Once she was out of sight in the other room and closed the door, I took off my helmet and sipped the hot coffee.
Once I finished, I sat waiting.
After about 6 hours, I heard the other room's door clicking, I slipped my helmet back on. Yuki peeked out.
"She's awake. She wants to meet you", Yuki said. I nodded as she came out and I went inside. Sally's cap, hoodie and shoes were off and her hair was open. She was lying on a bed with a wet towel on her forehead. Her eyes were closed and her breathing was shallow.
I sat beside her on the bed and put a hand on her forehead under the towel. Her temperature had decreased reasonably, so I sighed in relief.
"Sally, how long have you been in X Zone?" I asked and her eyes fluttered open.
Sally's P.O.V.
I looked at him suspiciously.
"Who are you?" I asked slowly.
Is he a member of Team ST? Nope, I would know probably. His eyes... they're familiar. I think I know him. He knows me, that's a first.
"Who I am doesn't matter right now", He replied.
"Ok... you asked since when I am in X Zone, right?" He nodded to confirm his question.
I'll have to trust him.. for now. After all he rescued me. I took a deep breath.
"Okay, I've been here for... about a year? I was stuck in one place since then. I escaped 4.. no 5? I have lost count of the days I've been running around. I haven't had proper food or sleep since then and that's probably why I collapsed. Thank you again", I said and smiled softly at him. He lost his monotone attitude for a second and looked with worry and relief at me.
"You must take care of your health and rest some more. I'm glad you're okay, Sally", He said softly, not in a monotone but in a calm, relieved voice. I had heard it before. My eyes widened as he realized his mistake.
"I-I mean-" he said.
"Kyoichi! You're Kyoichi!!" I said as I quickly sat up and hugged him, burying my face in Kyoichi's chest, tears leaving my eyes as I sobbed. Kyoichi sighed.
"I missed you too, Sally", He whispered as he patted my head. I let go of him and he wiped away my tears.
"Now.. you'll stay with Yuki, Sally", Kyoichi said. I shook my head.
"No! I'll come with you, Kyoichi. If I stay here, the people after me will find me", I said.
"After you?" He asked.
"Yeah.. there are these guys. I'll tell you about them later.. I wanna come with you", I said.
"I have a feeling you and I are after the same people. Okay come with me. But the path will be very dangerous", He warned. I grinned and rolled my eyes as I pulled on my hoodie and cap.
"I've heard that one many times before. I get it, and I'm coming", I said as I kneeled on one knee and tied up my shoe then switched to tie the other one.
"I'm ready, let's go!" I said and adjusted my cap before pulling on my knapsack.
"Our bikes are outside and remember, don't call me by name in front of others", Kyoichi said. A woman outside smiled at me and handed me a cup of coffee.
"I'm Yuki. Glad you're okay", The woman said. I gulped down the coffee. The fact that it was steaming hot didn't mind me, actually, it felt good in my throat. I kept the cup on a table and wiped my mouth with my sleeve.
"I'm gonna go with my friend here. Bye! And thank you for taking care of me!" I said and then nodded at Kyoichi. We both headed out and pulled on our helmets after I admired Thunder Emperor.
"Dash set let's go!" We said simultaneously and then we were off in the night.
