Jungkook laid on the bed, all this thinking had made him exhausted.
There were only so many things Jungkook can gather after the four days of them staying in the cabin.
1. Whoever has been taking these photos has access to the cabin.
2. They are most likely male.
And
3. They are connected to the previous tenants of the cabin. But really, that's all the information Jungkook could acquire at this point. He set the photos in the box again, walking towards the closet and setting it inside. He didn't know if the person taking the photos meant for Jungkook to find it, so he left everything the way it was before he closed the closet door.
Jungkook stared at his hands, the orange tint still on his fingertips. He wiped it on his black pants and walked towards his bedroom door.
Jungkook walked down the hallway, ending up in the living room.
"Ahh, Jungkook. We were just about to call you." Namjoon said, all the boys sat at the kitchen. Jimin and Yoongi sat farther apart than the days before.
At the sight of this, Jungkook was quite amused.
He walked towards the table, taking the empty seat beside Yoongi. The older sighed quietly as if he was disappointed that it wasn't Jimin that sat beside him.
But of course, Yoongi didn't say anything about it. He was just passive aggressive like that.
"What was it we were gonna talk about?" Jungkook asked, leaning against his chair. He observed the faces of his hyung's.
Jin and Namjoon looked nervous. Jimin was emotionless, almost as if he was in deep thought. Hoseok and Yoongi were both slightly confused like they had been called without knowing anything of whats going to be going on.
And for the most part, the same was true for Jungkook as well.
But he had a feeling he knew what was gonna come next.
Jin looked up at the younger, "After everything that's happened so far, I've decided that it's best for us to head back home. It's far too dangerous here and we cannot risk another injury like Jimin's occurring."
Jimin cut in, "It's not just an injury hyung, someone tried to kill me. What if someone else took a vacation here? And then ran into that psych? He would've killed me if I hadn't sacked him, so why don't we give him the same mercy."
"Because we're not murderers Jimin!" Yoongi flew up from his chair. "What if someone finds out huh? Then we all have to pay the price!"
Jimin stood up as well, "Why can't he pay the price then! He's probably murdered people already, dumped them in the river or some shit!"
The hairs on the back of Jungkook's neck stood up, the river. He thought back to the day they went fishing when Hoseok had caught something that was too heavy to be a normal fish. The red fabric that had caught on the hook and landed on the rock and Jungkook paid no mind to.
But the similarities between them. photo of the girl in red and the fabric that was in the river made Jungkook's breath stop.
'Maybe she really hadn't left.' Jungkook bounced from his seat, the chair falling to the tiled floor.
The boys at the table looked up at him.
"Kooks?" Yoongi said and a confused expression grazed his face. "What's wrong?"
Jungkook stared at the kitchen table, his breathing started to get heavy and he clutched his chest.
Jin stood up, walking towards the younger cautiously. "Jungkook? You're looking a bit pale-"
Cutting him off, Jungkook ran towards the door and darted off into the woods.
The boys at the table gasped, not wanting to leave the youngest of the group alone: they ran after him.
Jungkook dashed through the trees, hearing his hyungs running and calling behind him. He couldn't believe he was doing this, running into the woods by himself? But.. it was the middle of the day, nothing's gonna happen right?
Right?
He turned his head to look behind him and watched his hyungs trying to catch up to him.
Surprisingly, Jimin was going the fastest."Jungkook get back here now." The older yelled, still trying to match the younger's pace.
As Jungkook turned back, a dark figure caught his eye. He watched as the figure with what seemed to be a knife began to run, not towards him or his hyungs.. but the cabin.
Jungkook reached the river and stood in the exact spot Hoseok did only days before. He puffed as he began to walk straight into the water.
The rest of the boys caught up, looking on as the younger was searching through the water. "Jungkook what the fuck are you doing?" Yoongi yelled, walking towards the shoreline.
Jungkook paid no mind and continued to bend over slightly and sway his arms through the shallow waters. If he's correct then-
Shit.
He stopped as he felt something hit his foot, he kicked hit again and it moved slightly.
"That definitely isn't a fucking rock." Jungkook
thought. He slowly reached down, his breathing becoming quick again as his fingers brushed against something slippery and matted.
If Jungkook didn't know any better, he'd think it was seaweed.
But Jungkook knew what it was. It was hair-
Human hair.
Jungkook's breathing stops as he grips onto it, pulling it up slowly. It had been heavy for a few seconds, but as he continued to pull at it, everything had lost its weight.
He continued to slowly pull it out of the water, the hair object steadily emerging from the brownish water.
He almost screamed as he held the object in front of him, it is completely out of the water now.
Jungkook held a dangling head, it was browned and decayed and it leaked river water from its ears and eye sockets. The eyes still remained in its head, though it was glossed over and blue, looking like two rotten grapes.
An expression was etched on their face, an expression of fear and pain, their eyebrows were spread apart, causing the eyes to almost fall out from their given positions. Their mouth was wide open, the jaw was broken and half of it was hanging off, being held together by a
piece of skin. Jungkook realized then that he held the girl from the pictures in his own two hands. Yet something was significantly different (other than the fact she was dead). On her forehead was a carving, it had ripped through the skin and a bit of the bone too. The surrounding area was significantly darker, browner than the rest. A 'V' shaped carving was etched on her forehead.
"Guys," Jungkook said, gripping tight on the matted hair. He figured the rest of the boys couldn't see what he was holding, it was either that or they just didn't care. "I caught something, and it isn't a fish."
