Jungkook walked down THE hallway of his new elementary school. The inside was bright, full with colour and the shine coming in from the large windows.
He kept his head straight forward, staring at the ajar classroom door that waited for him at the end of the hall. The newly waxed floor under his shoes made small squeaking noises as he walked, and he can hear the click of his aunt's heals to the right of him.
For the past 5 years of his educational life, he's been to 7 different schools, all of them not being "the right fit for Jungkook." or in other words "no one at the school liked him, his aunt and uncle thought it would be a good idea to start fresh at a new school."
Despite Jungkook's odd behaviour, he was slightly hopeful that he would at least make one friend at his new school. After all, he didn't spend two years in behavioural therapy to just be a complete loner.
But sloWly as Jungkook was moving from school to school, he was losing the slivers of hope for himself that he'd gained over the years.
Jungkook sighed and stuffed his hands his pockets, tracing his thumb along the insides of his finger and repeating it with his other hand. It was a habit he picked up on when he was slightly nervous.
He stood a cOuple of metres from the front door that read V-236 and he waited a few moments before moving closer to the door.
A hand gripped his shoulder lightly and he twisted to face his aunt, who had a concerned look on her face.
"Jungkook, I know the past school's you've gone to haven't been the best fit for you. But I promise this one will be a lot better, you'll make friends here I swear" She said, a small smile on her face.
Jungkook looked towaRds the door and spoke in his small, child-like, frail, voice. "I hope so. But don't worry, if I don't make any friends here, you don't have to send me to a different school. I think this is just how I am. And if people don't Like me because of it, that's okay too. So don't worry auntie, I'll be okay regardless."
His aunt had a pained look on her face before she pulled Jungkook in a tight hug and rubbed his back softly. "Okay baby. Have fun okay?"
"Okay" Jungkook nodded against her shoulder and pried himself lightly out of his aunt's grip.
He waved goodbye to her and walked through the classroom door.
The desks were lineD in neat rows, and everyone sat in their seats, their heads down taking notes as the teacher wrote sentences on the board.
Jungkook had come in so quietly no one seemed to notice him. So he walked up slowly to the teacher at the whiteboard and pulled the sleeve of her right hand slowly before taking one quick, long step back.
The teacher halted her hand and looked tOwards her right side at eye level. Noticing that she could see him, Jungkook raised his had and waved it slightly, watching as her eyes lowered considerably to match his height.
He was quite short for his age aNd being the shortest kid in every class of his past 7 schools, he came to accept it easily. He didn't mind his height, he didn't really care.
Honestly, Jungkook didn't care for a lot of things. Which is obviously why he was in therapy, he cared a lot less for others than a normal human was supposed to. But he's adjusted over the years.
The woman smiled and glanced around the classroom full of busy students, all of them still hadn't noticed Jungkook's arrival in his class.
Which he was thankful for, he hated introducing himself in class.
