In order to get his strength back after almost two weeks of not being able to be as active as he would've liked, Josh began working out instead of his daily morning run. Push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, planks, the whole nine yards. Cliff diving wasn't a good idea, to say the least as it only added a few more days of pain.

But Tyler being, well...Tyler, the little boy didn't want to be left out in helping his boyfriend feel better.

"You really wanna help me?" Josh asks.

"Yes!"

Josh sighs, "Okay. Fine, you can help me."

"Yay! What do I do?"

Getting into a push-up position, Josh tells Tyler to lie on his back. Doing ten push-ups with Tyler on his back didn't do much for Josh considering Tyler weighed as much as a feather. Tyler is just happy to be included.

"What's next?!" Tyler asks excitedly.

"Sit-ups. You're gonna hold my feet down and be my motivation. Think you can do that?"

Tyler nods happily, sitting on his knees by Josh's feet. Pressing his small hands against the man's shoes, Josh sits up and pecks Tyler's lips before going back down and repeating the movement with each sit-up.

Tyler giggles, "You know *kiss*, it's really hot when *kiss* you work out *kiss*."

"Oh yeah? *kiss*" Josh chuckles.

"Mhm *kiss*. It makes you *kiss* sweat, and for *kiss* some reason I *kiss* find it insanely *kiss* hot."

Josh laughs, leaning himself back on his hands, "You find it hot when I sweat?"

Tyler shrugs with a blush, "Yeah."

Josh grins.

The small mand gasps suddenly.

"What's wrong?"

The smaller boy jumps up and runs to the back room. He comes back a moment later, his wall calendar in his hands. He grins widely and points to today's date.

"Happy birthday, Joshie!"

Josh grins, "Thank you, baby."

"We should celebrate!"

"No, sweetheart, that's okay."

"But we celebrated mine."

"Doesn't mean we have to celebrate mine," the elder says switching from sit-up to plank position.

"But I want to," Tyler says quietly.

Josh sighs and looks up at the brunette, "I don't want you to stress out over it."

"Then let me do something for you," Tyler states, lying on his belly in front of Josh. "It'll stress me out knowing you didn't have a good birthday."

"But I did have a good-don't give me that look."

Tyler stares up at the man with his wide brown eyes, a slight pouty bottom lip jutting out.

"Puppy eyes won't work this time."

Tyler stands his ground.

Josh growls, "Dammit. Fine!"

"Yay!" Tyler cheers, a grin appearing on his face.

"You're lucky I love you, brat."

-

Josh blows out the candles on the cake and smiles as his boyfriend claps.

Tyler had gotten their friends to come help celebrate the elder's birthday. He bought a cake, party decorations, and even a couple of presents just like Josh had done for him on his birthday.

"I thought you didn't celebrate your birthday, Josh?" Jack says.

"Yeah, why all of a sudden now?" Zack adds.

Josh shrugs as Tyler sets a plate with a slice of cake and some ice cream in front of him with a kiss to his cheek. "I don't know. Tyler wanted to help me celebrate like we did for his."

Every one of Josh's friends knew why he didn't like his birthday. Tyler didn't. And Josh didn't know how to tell him, especially after seeing how excited he got when he was told he could help give his boyfriend an amazing birthday.

As Tyler happily gives everyone a slice of cake, he asks, "Why don't you like celebrating your birthday, Joshie?"

The room falls silent as eyes are glued to the birthday boy. Tyler's smile slowly fades in confusion and he turns his head to look at his boyfriend.

"Um...I just, uh, it just makes me feel like I'm getting old," Josh chuckles softly.

Tyler knows Josh is lying, but he doesn't want to force him to say anything he wasn't comfortable with. If he wanted Tyler to know the truth, he would have told him earlier, right?

"Oh," Tyler says quietly. He forces a smile back on his face as the room stays silent. "I have a present for you."

"You got me a present? You didn't have to do that."

"I wanted to. I've had it saved for a long time actually."

Josh, along with everyone else, watches as the brunette walks over with a small wrapped box.

Josh peels the tape off and unwraps it . He takes the lid off and smiles lightly. Pulling out a dog tag necklace, he reads the engraving on it.

Home is where the heart is

Josh looks at the heart outline under the words. He sees Tyler slip his necklace off of his neck and place the tiny heart attached to it in the dog tag so that the heart was no longer just an empty spot.

Josh grins, his heart beating faster. He doesn't know what comes over him but he bites his lip as he feels his eyes begin to water.

"Are you crying?" Tyler asks, softly.

Josh shakes his head, wiping his left eye, "No. I'm just...sweating."

"From your eyes?" Tyler giggles.

"Shut up and kiss me."

Tyler grins and presses his lips to Josh's.
