For spring break, it was decided that a trip to Cedar Point was needed for a couple of days.
Putting their money together, Tyler and Josh, Brendon and Ryan, Pete and Patrick drove down and bought park passes along with hotel rooms, each couple getting their own room.
On the last day, Tyler began to notice Josh being distant. He'd stare off into space every few minutes, not respond to his name immediately, and even not notice when the group had stopped walking and causing him to continue walking away from them.
When they got back to Michigan, the group went their separate ways, leaving Tyler and Josh alone at their apartment.
After unpacking their bags, Tyler makes them dinner while Josh showers.
"Joshua!" Tyler calls, stirring the sauce in the pot. "Come try-"
The brunette jumps when he hears a loud crash come from the bedroom. Dropping the spoon, he races back and stops when he sees Josh standing in front of the closet, a pile of random stuff on the floor. The elder's head snaps up toward Tyler and he quickly throws his arm behind his back.
"What happened?"
"Um, I was putting the suitcase in the closet and it must have caught on something and knocked everything down from the top."
"Oh. Okay. Um...what's behind your back? Did you hurt yourself?"
Josh shakes his head and looks down at the pile.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Why aren't you looking at me?"
"S-sorry," Josh stutters, looking back up at his boyfriend. "I just...I don't know."
Tyler nods slowly, "Okay. Well, dinner's ready. We'll worry about the mess later."
"Okay."
"Come on," Tyler says, holding his hand out toward Josh.
"I have to do something real quick. I'll meet you out there."
Tyler hesitates for a moment before nodding again and leaving the room.

Tyler sighs as he washes the last of the dishes and sets it on the rack to dry. Drying his hands, he shuts the light off and walks back to the bedroom, stopping when sees Josh standing at the nightstand looking at something in his hands.
"Hey," he says softly.
Josh jumps and throws whatever he was holding into the top drawer of the table before looking at Tyler.
Tyler looks at him confused, "What was that?"
"Nothing," he replies quickly.
"Okay? Well, I finished the dishes. Thanks for the help."
"I'm sorry. I was...doing something."
Tyler nods and looks at the mess by the closet. "Obviously not cleaning the mess," he laughs dryly.
"Sorry. Um, get comfy, I'll-"
"Don't worry about it," Tyler says as Josh walks over to the closet and begins to pick up one of the shoe boxes that fell. "Let's just get ready for bed."
Josh sighs but nods. The two strip down to their underwear and crawl into bed.
Tyler smiles lightly as Josh wraps an arm around him.
"You know," the younger one says, "now that we're alone, we can have some fun."
Josh smiles and looks at him, "That's true."
Tyler smiles more and repositions himself so that he is straddling Josh's hips. "I feel like it's been a long time since we've had sex, but it's only been a week."
"That is a long time for us," Josh states, gently rubbing his hands up and down Tyler's thighs.
Tyler giggles and leans down, "True."
Sharing a kiss, Tyler sits back up, "I might need some stuff."
Josh's eyes widen slightly and he grabs Tyler's hand to prevent him from reaching to the nightstand, "Wait! Um, I'll get it."
Tyler raises an eyebrow and he watches the elder open the top drawer and pull out the small bottle of lube before quickly shutting it again.
"What's wrong with you?"
"What do you mean?"
"You were so distant all day yesterday and now you're like...hiding things from me."
"Ty, it's not like that. I have a good reason for it."
"What is it then?" Tyler asks, his voice beginning to get louder as his feelings are released.
"I...I-I can't tell you."
"Why the hell not?
"I just can't. Not yet."
"Josh."
"Tyler, I can't. It's going to ruin it. I promise, I'll tell you. I just can't right now."
"You've been so fucking distant, leaving me and the guys worried about you when you don't even respond to your own name, and now you won't even talk to me about it so I can help. And you're hiding things from me now! What is wrong with you?!" Tyler exclaims, frustrated tears beginning to build in his eyes.
"Tyler, stop yelling. I promise, baby, I'll tell you soon. Just...not right now."
Tyler sighs and looks down with a nod, "Okay."
"Where are you going?" the elder asks as Tyler climbs off of him and walks toward the door. "Tyler, don't leave, please."
"You usually tell me everything. Why can't you tell me this? Is it bad? Will something happen to you? Or me? Is-is it because of me?"
"No, Tyler," Josh says, jumping out of bed and walking to the door. "It's not you. Well, actually, i-it is, but it's not you."
"What does that even mean? Is it me or not?"
"Yes, but not in the way you think."
Neither boy says anything for a minute. Eventually, Tyler sighs, "I'm gonna sleep on the couch, Josh."
"Ty-"
"It's okay." Tyler walks to the closet and picks up a blanket off the floor before grabbing his pillow off the bed and walking out of the room.
"Let me sleep on the couch. You can have the bed."
"It's fine, Josh."
Josh squeezes his eyes shut and begins to pull at his hair anxiously. This is definitely not what he had in mind when he started planning.
