the first implies my adoration of him.
the second implies his adoration of me.
why can both not be true?
or are they, and they are just absent here?

he is kind, and loving, and gentle. he speaks softly and firmly. he cares for me deeply. i appreciate him endlessly.
he was welcoming when i first arrived. he invited me to many things. maybe he was just trying to impress me. either way, it was sweet of him.
