*Present* Wally's POV

I woke up to the most heavenly smell ever. I went downstairs and saw Aunt Iris cooking while Uncle Barry was reading over some notes. I hurried over and ate what I could for I had woken up late. Again.
"Kid, remember after school you have training with Black Canary and the team."

"Ugh," I groaned out, but I slowly started to smile, "but I'm sooo gonna beat Rob's butt this time!" I exclaimed with a cocky smile on my face. I got up and put the dishes in the sink before heading on my way. On the way out I gave Aunt Iris a kiss on her cheek, but I could hear Uncle Barry laughing from behind me.
"That'll be the day when Bat's admits he's wrong for once!" He yelled out to me.

*Time skip*

School was boring. Like always.
I mean I already know this stuff for crying out loud! The teacher was going on about some type of equation, but I wasn't listening.
Jake, who failed twice, was now in my grade. Fun.

The teacher, what was her name? Ah yes Ms. Norris, called on Jake to answer the equation on the board. He looked at the board for a long time then finally answered 12. '
12?! Ha! What an idiot,' I thought.
The teacher told him how wrong he was. I pretended to listen when I noticed the teacher looking for her next victim. And like always it was me.

"Wally, care to answer?" She asked with a fake smile on her face. I looked at the board and quickly came with an answer.
"147.24." I confidently, if not a bit cockily, answered.
She smiled with what seemed like pity for me, "I'm sorry, but that is incorrect."

I smiled back with a condolence look, "then check your book."
She sighed in frustration but did as she was told. Her face quickly turned sour upon noticing I was once again correct. She always had it out for me, but I could never figure out why. The day went by, as usual, correct people, avoid bullies, go to lunch, avoid bullies some more, then head to the cave.

*Time skip*

I arrived at the phone booth that was to take me to Mount Justice.
'Time to act dumb,' I thought.
Ya see, no one really knows the real me. The me they see is mostly an act. As usual, I was the last to arrive.
"Kid Flash, you will be up against Robin." I internally sighed, I done knew what was going to happen.

Just like I knew it would Robin had won.

I could easily beat him, but then people would ask questions and I was not ready to face my demons just yet with them. I'm constantly holding back, I hate it but it's best to not gain suspicion.

After training, we all went to the kitchen/living room.
Me being me went straight for the food, grabbing anything I could grab.
"Save some for us Baywatch!" I can hear Artemis yell from across the room.
'Man, she could give BC a run for her money,' I thought bitterly.

All I did was turn to her showing the chewed up food in my mouth.
"You're a disgusting pig!" She cried, "I don't see how your parents deal with you. You constantly eat us out over here. I could just imagine what you do to them."

All I did was stand there.
She doesn't know. She couldn't know what they did to me.
'Maybe Artemis is right. It wouldn't kill me to eat less.' I thought to myself.
I slowly, especially for me, start to put my stuff back, everyone staring at me.
M'gann was the first to break out of her trance. "Wally-" "no. Artemis is right. I'm sorry, I'll learn to eat less." After everything was said and done I turned around and left, not even giving them a goodbye.

I head to the park, up through the path, and to my tree-our tree, I corrected myself internally. She's been gone for 3-4 years... And it was all my fault.
I touch the spot where we carved our initials at.
We were only 8 when everything changed. I climbed to the top of the tree, where I usually go, and there was where I fell asleep.
