Evelyn's POV

"Eve?" I turned to my siblings as we continued to walk to Mr. Tumnus's house.

"Yes, Peter?" I questioned after he was silent.

"You said you've been here before?" I nodded while my siblings stopped walking.

"You've been here before? Why didn't you yell at us for not believing Lucy?" Susan accused me with a glare. I shook my head and stopped walking to look at them.

"You had to believe on your own. You didn't want to believe when you looked at the wardrobe after Lucy's first time there. When we were running from Mrs. Macready, you wanted it to be there. You hoped that it was there to keep you safe. I couldn't force you to believe it. Besides, if I told you that I went would you actually believe me?" My siblings looked away in shame and I nodded. "Now, off to Mr. Tumnus's house. I'm sure he'll have some tea ready. If I remember correctly, it's tea time." Lucy giggled as she grabbed my hand and led us to his house.

At one point Peter slipped and rolled down a hill. We all laughed at him but then Lucy thought it'd be funny to roll after him. We were all rolling down the hill, even Edmund. Though I did have to force him.

"...lots and lots of lovely food, and we'll have lots and lots of..." Lucy stopped her ranted abruptly as well as her walking. I looked up from her figure to look at what made her stop.

Lucy and I gasped and ran to the house. "Lucy! Evelyn!" Peter yelled after us but we just kept running. They followed us into the house to see what was going on.

The house was destroyed. The cups were smashed as well as the plates. His picture of his father had claw marks all across it. All of the furniture was broken and turned to it's side. In his kitchen the pots and pans were on the floor along with food.

It looked abandoned like it had been like this for days. "Who would do something like this?" Lucy asked as she looked around.

"The White Witch." I mumbled as I walked to touch the fireplace. It was freezing so that means that this definitely didn't happen today. Peter looked to a column and saw a note. He grabbed the paper and read the note out loud.

The Faun Tumnus is hereby
charged with High Treason against
Her Imperial Majesty, Jadis, Queen of Narnia, for comforting her enemies
and fraternizing with humans.
Signed Maugrim,
Captain of the Secret Police
Long Live the Queen

"Did that say Jadis?" Lucy questioned as she walked over to me. I pulled her into a hug knowing I was going to have to tell her.

"Yes. The same lady from your dream, Lu. It's her." Lucy held onto me tightly in fear.

"All right. Now we really should go back." Susan pleaded to Peter and I.

"But what about Mr. Tumnus?" Lucy asked confused why Susan wanted to leave without helping.

"If he was arrested just for being with a human, I don't think there's much we can do." Lucy tightly grabbed onto my coat and I set my hands on her shoulders.

"You don't get it, do you? I'm the human. She must have found out he helped me." I turned to see Edmund was standing farther away from us. I motioned him over but he stayed where he was. I frowned at him and he looked away.

"Maybe we could call the police." Peter suggested.

"Pete, these are the police." I snorted. Lucy turned to me and started to cry into my coat.

"Don't worry, Lu. We'll think of something." Peter reassured our sister.

"Why? I mean, he's a criminal." Edmund told us and I tilted my head.

"Edmund, this 'Queen' is no queen in Narnia. She's evil. She tried to kill me last time I was here." I told him and my siblings looked at me worried.

"Psst." I turned to look outside and saw a bird.

"Did that bird just 'psst' us?" Susan asked me and I shook my head.

"Birds can't talk here. There must be someone out there." I walked out with my siblings following. Peter was directly behind me, Lucy held onto his hand, Susan walked right behind her, and Edmund stayed a little distance away.

The bird flew away and some branches snapped. Peter grabbed my hand to pull me to him. I squeezed it reassuringly and let him pull me closer. "Come out." I demanded and a Beaver came out from behind a rock.

I tilted my head, was this Mr. Beaver? Peter moved me behind him as he moved to click his tongue and act like he was holding something in his hand. The Beaver looked offended when Peter's hand was next to his face.

"I ain't gonna smell it, if that's what you want." Lucy giggled with me while our other siblings gasped.

"S-sorry." Peter mumbled as he moved to stand next to me.

"Good to see you again, Beaver." I smiled at him and his eyes gleamed with hope.

"Oh Evelyn! You're back! These must be your siblings!" Beaver whisper yelled. I nodded and then he turned serious.

"So you must be Lucy Pevensie?" Lucy stopped smiling and walked forward.

"Yes?" She asked quietly. Beaver held out a hankie to her and she grabbed it. "Hey, that's the hankie I gave Mr. Tum..."

Beaver cut her off, "Tumnus. He got it to me just before they took him."

"Is he all right?" Beaver looked around and then started to walk away.

"Further in." I went to follow without hesitation, but Susan stopped me. Lucy and Peter were following me but stopped also.

"What are you doing?" Susan grabbed Peter's arm and Edmund backed her up.

"She's right. How do we know we can trust him?" Edmund eyed Beaver suspiciously.

"He said he knows the faun." Peter shrugged and Susan rolled her eyes.

"He's a beaver. He shouldn't be saying anything!"

I shook my head and grabbed her hand. "Susan, when I was in Narnia for the first time, he and Tumnus helped me get to safety. I owe him my life."

"Everything all right ?" Beaver asked as he walked back over to us.

"Yes. We were just talking." Peter responded and Beaver looked to the trees.

"That's better left for safer quarters." Beaver whispered and scurried away.

"He means the trees." Lucy and I whispered to our siblings. I then started after him and my siblings reluctantly followed.
