Lost and Found

Around every corner

She got in the passenger seat and laid her head on the cool glass. When Beastboy started driving he knew he needed to know what happened.
"Rae can you tell me what happened?" She didn't want to tell him. She just felt a scared feeling in her stomach.
"I don't know. I just... I don't know. I don't want the rest of the team to know." She stated.
"I won't tell them. I promise. This will only stay between us."
"It's not just that. I just don't want to make things worse."
"You won't make things worse. Now just tell me. I pinky promise I will be the only one to know about this." She rolled her eyes as he held his pinky out for her. She slowly returned the action and he grinned slightly.
"So what happened?" She swallowed the huge lump in her throat.
"There was a guy in the store after you left for a few minutes and he..." She didn't think it would be this hard to tell him. But now that she is, it's like holding a thousand pounds with one hand.
"I know who he was. He was one of the guys that...that." She started shaking. The memories started flooding her head again, but she tried to push them away.
"He ran his arms up my sides and he said I was one of the best he did." He noticed she started shaking and he grabbed her hand and stroked it with his thumb. He was hoping it would calm her down a little. By the looks of it, it did help her a little bit.
"And then he left and I ran. I just panicked. That's it."
"That son of a bitch! If he ever-"
"See this is why I didn't want to tell you! I was afraid you would try and take it in your own hands. Just please I'm begging you don't do anything." She looked at his pleadingly. He took his eyes off the road and looked back at her. He let out a long sigh.
"Fine whatever, I'm not gonna go out looking for this guy. But if I ever see anyone doing that to you, I am gonna take things into my own hands." She was relieved he wasn't going to do what she thought.
"Thank you." She rested her head against his shoulder.
"Don't mention it." He said defeated. How much he wanted to find the bastard who hurt is friend. But he promised her. About a few minutes later they arrived at the titans tower. They hopped out of the car and walked towards the living room.
"Friends! I am overly joyed to see you! How was the store for books?" Starfire asked greeting them as they walked in. Raven backed up and tried to hide her face behind Beastboy's shoulder.
"It sucked. It was so bad Raven couldn't even find a book she liked." He chuckled. She sighed in relief. Even though he promised he wouldn't say anything, it still scared her.
"Aww that's too bad." Cyborg said from the couch.
"Hey Uh Raven? Can I talk to you?" Robin walked up to her from behind. She nodded and they walked out of the living room.
"I just wanted to test your powers. I want to understand why they aren't coming back."
She nodded again. She wished she had her powers back. She felt so insecure without them. She felt like she didn't belong on the team anymore.
They walked into a dark room with a table and two chairs. They sat down and he put two magnets on the table. He put them together.
"Raven pull them apart with your powers."she swallowed.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos." She chanted quietly to herself. She opened her eyes but the magnets were still the same.
"It's okay, try again."
She chanted to herself once more. She felt a drop of sweat coming down her forehead. She opened her eyes and saw the magnets haven't even moved. She sighed in frustration.
"I'm sorry. I'm really trying I—"
"No no, it's okay. Let's try something different." He took the magnets and put them in his pocket.
"What am I thinking of right now Raven?" She closed her eyes and tried to use her powers as much as she knew how to, but nothing worked.
"Robin I don't know. I can't, I'm trying as hard as a can but I just can't." She got up and walked swiftly out of the room. Tears started coming down her face as she went to her room. Starfire was walking down the hallway as well.
"Friend Raven are you—"
"No I'm not but thanks for asking." With that she slammed the door.
