Lost and Found

Surgery

Her heavy eyelids opened to a bright blue room. She tried to sit up, but strong hands pushed her gently back into the bed.
"Don't sit up Rae, you were hurt really bad." She heard Beastboy's voice in one part of the room.Her head and throbbed but not near as much as her shoulder.
"Where am I?" She said as her eyes twitched.
"You're in the hospital. They had to do surgery to remove the bullet."
"Bullet?" She said slightly confused.
"Yeah one of the guys had a gun, we didn't stop him in time. The ambulance got you here as soon as they could. They thought your arm would have to be amputated, but it didn't. They just said you will lose feeling in a few fingers."
Her eyes wandered aimlessly around the room. She looked at her arms and she had an IV in her arm. The same side that she got shot on.
"How long have I been in here?"
"Two days. They had to give you an IV to keep you hydrated."
"How long has it been since you slept?"
"Uh... two days." He rubbed the back of his head. She could tell, his eyes were bloodshot and he had bags under his eyes. She slowly scooted over to give him room.
"Rae, your shoulder." He got up from his chair.
"Why do you think you're not laying on that side?" She rolled her eyes. He gave in and slowly crawled in the bed with her. Once he got settled in she cuddled up next to him.
"Does it still hurt?" He asked almost in a whisper.
"Yeah, a lot. But it's alright." He sighed.
"I'm so sorry I didn't stop him in time. If I did you wouldn't be in this mess." He had a sad look on his face.
"Don't blame yourself, you did your best and you saved me once again." She kissed him lightly.
"Cyborg is right, you need to get off your man period. You're acting all sad." She giggled.
He rolled his eyes at her.
"Yeah yeah." He played with her soft hair.
"Is Isabella and Hope okay? Please tell me they are."
"Don't worry, the bullet went clear through so she's okay. And Isabella is too. Also, Robin and Starfire found a whole business. We don't think that's all of the girls but they got at least twenty or so." She sighed in relieve.
"Why didn't you sleep? Where's everybody else?"
"They all went back to the tower. They only allow one person back here and I had to go through a whole bunch of crap for even me to come back here because I technically wasn't family. Also, I just couldn't sleep. I was exhausted but I just couldn't." She could tell he has a rough two days and it broke her heart.
"Well can you go to sleep now that you have a bed to lay in?And you know I'm okay." He gave her a huge smile.
"I'll gladly sleep." He yawned and kissed her before closing his eyes. She nuzzled closer to him as she closed her eyes as well.
"This is how I like it to be."

Oh! I almost forgot!!! I got asked if that was me in my profile picture. Yes that is me!! My friend is taking a photography class and she wanted to create a picture like that and I gladly volunteered. I loved the way it turned out because I feel it has meaning behind it!😊
Also, I got asked if I play an instrument.
Yes I do. I play the ukulele. I love my little Hawaiian instrument! I've been playing for about 2 years💗💗
