I ended up having to take care of her throughout the rest of the day.
I had transferred my phones set to my keyboard and i let Eli use one of my guitars. We played through the song once before i started singing. Eli malfunctioned or something, he was stuck staring at me, i mean his hands were holding the guitar in the right placements but he just didn't strum. I looked at his face, frozen in awe.
"What?" i asked
"No, nothing." he said snapping back to reality, looking away with a heavy blush settling on his cheeks. I smirked.
"Was there something wrong with my voice?" i asked
"No, seeing how you'll keep asking embarrassing questions, i just didn't expect you to have a really nice voice, let alone actually sing one of my songs." he said as his blush was starting fade.
"Why? I love your lyrics" i stated. Bringing back the heavy blush.
"I- uh- thank you. I mean, nobody really likes my music. I mean they do until they find out i'm the one who put it together or wrote the lyrics and then everyone gets all pissy and they'll lash out at me. Often times i'd get told to stick to something i'm good at, like sports or -" he suddenly stopped talking causing me to frown, i knew exactly what was going to come out of his mouth next "sorry."
"No. don't be sorry. Oh my god, Talk. Talk like there's no tomorrow. Talk for as long as you want! Don't do that, don't hold your tongue when you want to get something off your chest. Just talk." i said causing him to go bright red, staring at me. I smirked crossing my arms. "Why are you blushing?
"I don't know!" he exclaimed covering his face. I chuckled getting up.
"While you calm down i'm gonna get some water, then lets run through the song a few more times." i stated, he nodded. As i was making my way up the stairs. My moms stood at the top by the door snickering while they were planning my coming out party.
"Jaz could you get me a glass too!" Eli called out
"Yeah!" i shouted startling both my parents to silence.
"Jaz, when will you come out?" Jannet asked as Lauren was trying to sneak away.
"You want me to come out as straight?" i asked walking past them
"There is no way you are straight!" Lauren snapped coming back "Boy, we've raised you through your princess phase and your pink phase."
I shrugged "doesn't mean i'm gay"
"You're joking right?" Jannet questioned as i left for the kitchen. I walked back down the stairs with the two glasses of water.
"Is he gay or European!" Eli sang as i was coming down the stairs, i chuckled.
"Funny." i scoffed holding out the water for him to take. He did so with a wide grin plastered on his face.
"You're not straight!" Lauren shouted down the stairs.
"I know! I already came out!" Eli called back.
"Eli, why?" i asked
"Why not?" he asked and we went back to working on the song, adding some chords removing others, replacing beats, switching words around. When we finally finished, it was late and he ended up passing out on my couch with my guitar tucked between him and the couch, i removed my guitar, as he was situating himself half asleep. I put my guitar back on the stand. I walked back over to the sleeping boy and covered him in a blanket from my closet before changing for bed. I crashed into my bed dozing off next to the keyboard.
