I found him talking with his friends, and the look that he gave me, looked like he was going to stab me if i even thought about talking to him. By the time fourth period hit, he looked fed up with my shit. I of course was having the time of my life, we're still watching the movies in fourth. Someone did one on homosexuality, homophobia. Eli actually got up and left the room. I froze staring at the title, before looking to the door, i could see him walk past the window pissed. I glared at the kid, standing at the front of the room with a smug look on his face. I stood.
"Mrs. Morgan, how are you okay with him presenting this, but the moment Eli wants to do a song on acceptance of gays you try to deny us the opportunity?" i asked not waiting for a response. I was already starting to the door.
"Jasper." she stated. "Jasper Rhyes!"
I continued out the class holding my sides walking past the window, going after Eli. i found him outside, where he sat yesterday. He was punching the shed wall. I plopped down and looked up at him.
"Hey, Eli." i said. He stopped punching the wall for a second.
"What?" he asked "i swear to god if you say another pick up line, i'm gonna tackle you."
"Anyone would be lucky to be under you. In between the sheets would be more preferable." i mumbled looking away from him.
"Jaz!" a student shouted leaving the school. I got up starting to head back, Eli tackled me.
"What did i say." he groaned shoving my face into the ground.
"Jesus." i whined wincing in the pain. "My ribs can't heal if you keep tackling me. God damn."
"I warned you!" he shouted sitting back, not getting up.
"Would you get off me!" i snapped. This kid from class turned the corner to find us fighting. Well, wrestling. I had a foot on his face while he had a fist full of my hair in one hand and my sweat shirt in the other. He sat on the other leg and i was just trying to get out of his grip on me.
"Uh... Mrs. Morgan wants you both back in class..." she said. We both looked at her then at each other. Eli, slowly turning red. He released me getting up.
"Bloody asshole!" i shouted clinging to my side. I got up to follow the girl to the class, Eli wasn't there. Morgan sat at her desk waiting for three students to enter the room. I dropped into my seat still holding my sides. A few minutes of waiting for Eli, Morgan finally asked where he went. Both the girl and i shrugged. He stormed into the classroom with a bag of ice. He took his seat next to me, handing the ice over.
"Sorry. " he said bumping my shoulder. I took the ice seeing his sheepish smile. He went to get his hands bandaged and the ice is supposed to be for his hands. I scoffed.
"Maybe you shouldn't punch walls." i stated taking off my hoodie, my arms were covered in healing bruises. I pressed the ice pack to my rib cage.
"I didn't know you were gay." the kid said both Eli and i stopped breathing.
"Heh?" we questioned looking at the brat with the homophobia movie.
"I mean, i probably could have gone and put a notice in the beginning, stating that this wasn't to support homophobia. I-it was a movie on the what it means to be homophobic and such." the guy said Eli stared blankly at the end credits. In fact, they played the movie again and i was made to sit through it along with Eli, who kept looking back at me whenever something negative happened. Mid-panic attack, i leaned forward covering my head, freaking out.
"I left not because it was homophobic, but because i figured he'd try to sit through it and go through a panic attack." Eli stated which turned the attention from the front of the class to the back. Spots from when i was beat were throbbing in pain. My head ached and i just wanted it to end. "I'm going to call one of your mom's okay?"
I nodded slightly. He got up guiding me out of the classroom. I fell to my ass by the door, huddling back into a ball. Not even three minutes passed since Eli got a hold of one of them, and Jannet came running with Lauren in tow. Both moms knelt down in front of me checking if i was okay. They checked for any recent injuries.
"You two got into a slight skirmish then?" Jannet asked looking up at Eli.
"It wasn't serious." he said Lauren got up and entered the classroom while Jannet managed to get me to unravel enough to get me to start walking, while Lauren explained what was going on to the class.
