Eli sat in a seat talking with Kade up until i walked in. The moment Kade saw me, he went quiet. I smirked spotting the back of Eli's head. I walked up to the counter right off the bat the barista started flirting with me.

"You know, a lot of girls would love to date you." she said, i shrugged.

"Yeah, i've noticed. However, i'm not into girls." i said plainly taking my drink.

"So, i should've done your order?" this guy said butting into our conversation.

"Oh, most definitely." i said smirking, walking away, over to Eli's table. "I'm going to have to come here more often, he's cute."

"Morning Jaz, you know Kade right?" Eli asked gesturing to Kade sitting across from him. I glanced over at him.

"I believe i do" i said "i didn't know you were gay."

"You knew the town we lived in." he said i nodded dropping into the space next to Eli.

"I know the consequences of being different in that town. However, what i don't know is why you didn't stay out of it like the other gay kids, or why you weren't like my friends and try to help?" i questioned Kade didn't say anything, he hung his head as i got up to leave. Now, i didn't expect to see Eli to follow me out.

"Why'd you follow me?" i asked glancing back at him.

"More often than not, you're more fun to hang out with." he said i scoffed, taking a drink from coffee.

"How'd Kade take you leaving?" i asked

"He apologized and assumed we're dating" Eli stated

"Like everybody else." i grumbled

"Pretty much" Eli sighed, i checked my phone, more likely the date. I've only known Eli for five weeks. "Since we're already out already, do you wanna go do something?"

"What are we going to do?" i asked

"Go to the mall, scope out cute guys, find me a boyfriend" Eli stated throwing his arm over my shoulder, causing me to scoff.
