Chapter 8: day trip

To say things in camp were tense and slightly divided due to the grounder still being held against his will as it was currently the subject that was dividing the brother and sister of the camp as well as the sister since Rowan and Octavia believed that the grounder wasn't as a big of a threat to them as everyone else believed since he had helped save Octavia's life more than once which was why Rowan had decided to visit him regularly under the pretence that she had to check his wounds which she did but not as intensely as she was since he seemed as if he was beginning to trust her as well a Octavia. The camp had slowly began to rebuild itself since the storm and had built a new form of communications using the undamaged screen that had played Jaha's message to them as they came to earth so that they could see as well as speak to their loved ones on the Ark which brought new issues to their lives. Rowan had decided to check in on both the grounder and on Bellamy as she grabbed her med kit as well as some food and water before going to the drop ship

" hey I thought you might be hungry" Rowan said as Bellamy opened the hatch door for her as she offered him the food and water she had brought with her before he helped her up

" thank you, I'm kinda starving if I'm honest... hey" Bellamy said as he kissed her hello as he thought about how they were ignoring the fact that they had different opinions on the grounder

" I missed waking up with you this morning, why did you leave the tent so early? Did you talk to the ark?" She said as he placed his arms around her waist as she ran her hands through his hair

" no I asked Miller to do that, he's going to tell all the parents of the deceased but I said I would take this shift in watching the grounder. You here to treat him?" He said knowing her

" yeah I wanted to take a look at his hand and make sure it wasn't infected since the knife you used wasn't exactly sterilised" she said as he let her go and sat down to eat the food she had given him

" have you talked to your dad?" He said knowing that she had been kind of putting off talking to him since she was considering telling him about Raven being her sister and about Bellamy

" no not yet, I'm scheduled to speak to him later today. I keep debating whether I should tell him, I mean it's not like he can float me and the rules up no longer apply" she said hoping

" but you're scared, that's okay I get it. Speaking of, would you mind taking my place with Clarke during the council meeting?" He said knowing that he couldn't go and face Jaha

" I can but it really should be you since you're as much of a leader of this camp as Clarke, not me. I'm just the doctor around here" she said cleaning and dressing the Grounder's hand

" I know but if I do then Jaha will know about me and then god knows what will happen" he said still worried that Jaha would kill him for what he had done to him in order to join them

" what if you plead your case? You did it for a reason and it's not like you did it alone" she said as she sat on the floor on front of where he was sitting on the box as she talked to him about this

" no one is going to believe me over a someone like that and we both know it" he said thinking about how unfair the Ark and it's rules were to people like him as he knew what his punishment would be

" we'll work this out though, I mean they are coming and it's not like you're going anywhere. It's better that you take charge of the situation before they do" she said stealing some of his food

" you're so dark and twisty but so optimistic and hopeful, it's like this weird combination" he said playing with her waves as he thought about what it could all mean for them as a couple
