Rain

Jesse Pov:

Dark clouds were spread out across the sky as the rain fell from the sky. I sat in the window sill looking out the distance as the rain poured down.

I sighed as I got down. I went into my room and plopped down landing on top of my messy bed. I laid sprawled out on my bed. Once again I looked out my window to see the rain drizzling down plopping as it reached the ground.

I got up from my bed and hastily grabbed my rain coat. I put my arms in, zipped it up, and put the hood over my head. I grabbed my keys from my pocket and swiftly making my way towards the door.

As I ran out I shut the door behind me locking it then putting the keys back in my pocket. Rain was always soothing to me their was just something so peaceful about rain.

The rain started pouring down harder soaking my raincoat even more. I didn't know why it was raining in the summer, but I wasn't going to question it.

 As I looked around I saw my best friend Lukas sitting at a bench. He wore a yellow raincoat and black pants. He didn't notice me so I just walked up to him and sat next to him. He appeared to be in deep thought.

"Lukas." I said shaking him gently breaking him out of his thoughts. "Wha-." He said not noticing my presence yet.

He turned his head looking at me dead in the eye. He smiled at me. "Hi Jesse." Lukas said.

"Hi." I replied smiling back at him. "So how's life been treating you?" I asked. He stroked his hair nervously.

"Yeah its been better." He said smiling at me sheepishly. "Huh me too." I said.

Then their was an awkward silence between us until I spoke up.

"Well, I am gonna go for a walk." I said as I stood up. I felt Lukas gently grab my wrist. "Wait." He said. I looked at him giving him a faint smile. "I'll come too." Lukas said. "Ok." I said. He released his grip and stood up.

We walked around town side by side as the rain poured down harshly. "How's your book coming along?" I asked Lukas.

"Its almost done I think it will be ready by f-founding day." He said. After a few minutes I noticed Lukas trailing behind clutching his side. I turned around and walked over to him.  "Hey you okay?" I asked putting my hand on his shoulder. 

"Yeah just cramps." He said rubbing his arm in a slightly embarrassed way. I pat him on the back making him chuckle nervously. I turned around to see a park.

I grabbed Lukas hand and started to run towards the huge plot of grass. I released his hand and jumped into the grass playfully. I laughed as the rain hit my face. Rain always seemed so special to me I don't know why it just does.

Lukas sat down next to me while I laid down in the wet grass. "I love the rain!" I thought to myself as I looked into the sky.
