Ellegard paced around her lab, her thick curls bouncing as she swiftly moved around.

She tapped her narrow chin thoughtfully and glanced at one of her unfinished creations. Thin wires and red stone dust laid scattered around the creation.

With a soft sigh, she rapidly turned to a nearby chest, opened it swiftly, and slowly rummaged through it.

A brilliant idea had made it's way into the engineers racing mind and the idea seemed to be brighter than the stars glimmering in the dark night.

Soren walked into the exquisite lab and the engineer didn't notice the architect since her gaze was locked on the shiny items in her hands.

"Ellie why don't you hang out with me?" Soren inquired for the millionth time that day as he put his hand on his hip, "It's been almost 8 hours and you're still cooped up in here don't you know what you're missing out on?"

His voice slightly startled Ellie and she nearly dropped the items in her hands.

She glanced up and sighed
softly.

"Soren, I'm not taking a break. I'm working on a very exquisite creation as you can see and I can assure you that I'm not missing out on anything," She said earnestly as a glint of determination sparkled in her dull eyes.

"Please Ellie just spare a few moments," Soren pleaded softly, "I can show you what you're missing out on if you let me."

Ellie visibly hesitated as she slowly stood up, items firmly in her grasp.

"Sorry Soren, but I-I need to finish this first," She stammered, faintly. She made her priorities quite clear, work first fun later.

"Oh," He said, his face falling slightly, "That's alright then."

Soren shifted from toe to toe for a few moments and looked as though he wanted to say more.

Ellie moved briskly around her lab and paid little attention to the architect.

With her back now facing Soren, she smiled brightly and got to work.

Soren left the lab without another word and once he was outside he exhaled faintly. He ended up sitting in the dewy grass as he pondered deeply.

He was silently hoping that Ellie would join him.

He spotted his ukulele case and rapidly grabbed it. He opened the ebony case and took the ruby colored ukulele out.

He calmly strummed the strings of the ukulele and began to sing softly.

Oh, for I can't help falling in love with you

Oh, like a river flows, surely to the sea
Darling, so it-

He winced as he played the wrong chord and immediately stopped singing.

All of a sudden, he heard clapping which in turn made him jump.

He quickly turned and saw Ellie, applauding him. She seemed.... Impressed?

Soren's face quickly turned to a dark shade of scarlet and he was unable to hide the fact that he was blushing like a madman.

"H-How much of that d-did you hear," He stuttered awkwardly, as he set his ukulele in his lap.

"I only heard all of it," Ellie stated gently. A small smile tugged on her ruby lips.

Soren's face grew even redder and the sight of Ellegard's precious smile made his heart skip a beat.
