I gazed out the window of the Tahoe, looking out at the desert. Cactus' were scattered across the desert. Shrubs were all across the desert and even murages.
I glanced at the others who looked pretty bored, Olivia was fiddling with a piece of her hair and gazing out the window, Axel was asleep as he leaned on the seatbelt with his mouth open, snoring, Petra was in the middle on her iPhone most likely listening to music like me. Her gold and white headphones were on her head up top of blue striped bandana which was a little crooked on her head.
I glanced over to Lukas who was driving his eyes fixed on the endless road ahead. I took my phone out of my pocket which was continually beeping every second. I turned it on and unlocked it and started scrolling through my messages.
About a million was from Radar probably panicking and asking if we made it yet. Sure enough he was a bunch of messages were, are you there yet or is everything ok?
I text back, Radar everything is fine calm down buddy where about 17 hours away.
Less than 5 seconds he responded, sorry boss. I sighed as I felt a migraine coming probably from all the stress.
Its fine Radar, I texted back and put my phone back in my pocket. I took off my cyan and white headphones, setting it down next to me.
"Stress, I presume," Lukas said, his eyes still fixed on the road ahead. "Yeah, tell me about it," I said, gazing at him.
He didn't reply, instead he looked at me his sapphire blue eyes meeting mine for a split second. I could stare into his dark blue eyes for days it was so unique, so rare, and special.
I was snapped out of my daze when my phone beeped. I didn't bother to pick it up as my headache began to get worse. My head pounding every few seconds.
"Let me guess-," Lukas began I cut him off. "Headache, yes." I said, bluntly. Just then Lukas took a hand off the steering wheel and felt my forehead his gaze going from me to the road.
His cool hand rested on my forehead for a moment before he moved his hand away placing it back on the steering wheel.
"It does feel a little warm," he looked at me before staring back at the road, "But not warm enough for a fever."
I faintly nodded and slumped back into the seat. The leather fabric of the seat brushing against my neck.
I sighed, why did I ever agree to go on a 48 hour road trip.
