Mourning

Jesse Pov:

"Get up boy, I need you." I said, my heart breaking at the sight of Reuben's limp body. Reuben tried to stand up, but his legs buckled and he fell back on the cold ground.

Then, his eyes closed and he became lifeless. Less than a second later he disappeared into a cloud of smoke.

All that remained was a porkchop. I hesitantly, picked it up and brought it to my chest. I burst into tears, that was the last straw. 

"I'm so sorry," Lukas said. 

"He was a great pig," Petra said, putting her hand on my shoulder. 

I sunk to my knees, holding the remains of my beloved pig.

_________ time skip________

I stared out the window, holding the porkchop close to me, never letting go for a minute. "I'm sorry...I f-failed, you" I whispered, putting my head in my knees.

"Jesse, its not your fault," Olivia said. "But, it...is," I said, choking on my sobs. Olivia didn't reply, probably realizing how much of a broken person I am.

I dug my head further in my knees, wishing it was all a nightmare, but life is cruel and doesn't work that way.

I part of me believed he was still alive, but the other part of me knew. I saw him die with my own eyes right in front of me. 

Then, I felt arms wrap around me, pulling me into a hug. I leaned against them, my head still in my legs.

I started crying harder remember all the good times I had with Reuben.

Flashback:

"Reuben! Came back here!" I shouted playfully chasing Reuben around the treehouse. He ran towards me and I picked him up, twirling him around in the air.

I tripped over my legs and we plummeted to the ground.

Smack!

I groaned, but then it turned into laughs. Reuben started snorting he got off my stomach and started running around me in circles.

At just the right moment I picked him up and cuddled him, watching the sunset. Orange, blue, and purple filled the sky as I held him tightly, careful not to drop him.

End of Flashback:

The thought of one memory, brought back a train of others. My heart felt like a piece was ripped out never to be replaced, every again.

____time skip___

I touched the run down tree, the leaves that were left were now drooping, a place I called home, now gone.

Another piece of my life gone, a place I made memories, some bad others good.

I looked up, the broken ladders swaying to the side hanging loosely on one strand of rope. I grabbed the ladder and pulled it back, breaking it. I tossed it to the side and fell to my knees, my hands outstretched in front of me.

All the memories made with Olivia, Axel, Petra, and Reuben were now washed away. I sobbed, everything in me was torn apart, like one part of me is gone and the rest topples over, like blocks.

I was in that position for hours until someone found me.

"Jesse." I heard a voice all to familiar to me.

I didn't budge from my spot.

I heard Olivia gasp Then I heard the sound of her footsteps approaching me, crunching the leaves underneath her.

"Come on let's get you up." I heard her say. For the first time I looked at her. Her cocoa eyes met with mine and her eyes were filled with a glint of sorrow.

She stuck out her hand and I reluctantly accepted it.

I was on my feet, standing there as if I couldn't move. 

Olivia hugged me and I hesitantly hugged back. 

"I know its hard, but....," she paused, "You'll have to move on, eventually."

So, I actually watched the clip of Reuben's death again and you could actually hear the emotion in Cat Taber's voice (I play as female Jesse).

Its just soooooooo sad, 😭

but anyways I finished it:

(Don't even get me started with Jack's hair.... 😑)
