Shout out to @coolylaurance for suggesting I do a sequel! Thank you! Alright into the story.
We climbed down the tree ready for the long journey ahead of us. Everyone was still soaked from the previous night. The sun was out but the trees covered most of the sun and instead of heat there was shade.
I felt a strong gust of wind. The wind made us shiver as it hit our drenched clothes. "Alright let's move." I said. They all nodded and we started our long and treacherous journey.
I spotted a river the currents moving swiftly and the water a greenish-blueish color. "Be careful." I said. I waded in the water almost falling over a couple of times. I took my steps carefully as I crossed the river.
I climbed up a nearby patch of land. I crossed the river. My other friends were in the water wading across the current moving faster than before. Olivia slipped landing in the water. Axel pulled her up bringing her back up. She gasped for air her eyes wide.
Axel hung on to her arm as they continued to wade through the water. Petra climbed up and sat down next to me water dripping down her legs. Olivia and Axel climbed up and they sat down next to us catching their breath.
Lukas was nearly there when he fell the currents making it harder to stand up. I lunged into the water desperate to catch my friend. The current pushing him away from me and towards a waterfall! I waded to him as fast as I could.
He almost fell down the waterfall when he caught something. He was hanging on for his dear life! "Don't worry I'm coming!" I said. As I got closer I grabbed his hand, but the water was moving too quick knocking Lukas and I down.
Quickly thinking I grabbed the ledge that Lukas was just on. The others were making their way towards us. "Don't!" I said to them. Their faces were planted with fear as the saw us dangling about to fall.
They glanced at each other before going into the water. Petra went in the water first followed by Olivia and Axel. They hung on each others shoulders as they waded towards us. Water was seeping underneath my hands making it harder to hung on.
My hand slipped sending Lukas and I falling down. We screamed. Petra had grabbed my hand barely holding on to it. Lukas was dangling as he held on to my leg his grasp tight.
Olivia pulled us all up with Axel's help. We waded back to the patch of land. Panting. "That... was close." I said with my hands on my knees as I panted for breath.
"Thanks guys." I said looking at Olivia, Axel, and Petra. They all smiled and Lukas and I returned the smile. We continued walking until nightfall. I trudged to the perfect resting spot my legs sore from all the walking. My stomach started growling and my eyes were threatening to close.
I was reluctant at first, but I closed my eyes drifting to a deep sleep.
I woke up. The sun's rays shining through the trees. I rubbed my eyes. My legs were still sore, but not as bad from the day before.
Olivia was throwing rocks at a tree. "Found any food?" I asked her. "No, its so barren out here that I couldn't even find one thing." Olivia said. I sighed I was hoping for food. "I'm gonna scout ahead." I said. I walked towards a bush.
I put my hand in it longing to find anything to eat. I pulled out the unexpected something I didn't think I'd find.................
