As the gods reached the elevator where the mortals are coming from, there was a 'ding' sound as the elevator reached its destination. The governor, followed by two bodyguards came out of the elevator, staring at the beauty of Olympus.
Aphrodite and Artemis looked at him in revulsion and Apollo shot a venomous look at him.
The governor saw Perseus looking at him and immediately went to bow at him.
Zeus saw that and got angry.
"SHOULDN'T YOU BOW TO THE KING OF GODS FIRST?! YOU WORTHLESS MORTAL!" Zeus hollowed, throwing a small bolt of lightning at the governor. Not enough to kill, but enough to shock him and cause pain.
Before the bolt could touch him, a large Adamantine shield blocked the governor from any harm.
The other gods looked at Perseus in shock.
"HOW DARE YOU PERSEUS?! " Zeus shouted at Percy in rage.
Aphrodite glared at Percy, but didn't attack him as she knew that Percy would have a reason for doing things.
A silver arrow was shot at Percy. Percy evaded the attack by doing a backflip and catching the arrow in mid-turn. Percy turned to look at the raging Goddess of the Moon.
"HOW DARE YOU PROTECT HIM!! " Artemis screamed at Percy.
Percy looked at her straight in the eyes. "I am the Protector of Mankind. I need to protect him."
"I thought that you different, I suppose I was wrong. All of the male population are the same, no matter how young or old they are." Artemis said bitterly, eyes flashing with anger. Artemis then walked off. But when she passed the governor, she slapped him. The governor's eyes burned with anger and resentment.
The Gods insisted that the bodyguards stay in the lobby of the Empire State Building while they talk to the governor. The rest of the Olympians walked with the governor through the streets of Olympus, talking about things in the city of New York.
The governor learned that Olympus just went through 2 wars and that Percy was once a demigod.
When they passed a shop selling ambrosia and nectar. The governor wanted some, but the gods did not allow him and did not tell him the reason. This made the governor feel resentment towards the Gods for not only disrespecting him but not allowing him to eat the food of the gods.
As the governor was leaving, he smiled and said that he enjoyed the talk with the gods to them in the face. However, as he turns around to leave, he gritted his teeth in anger and balled his fist in frustration.
'How dare they refuse to let me eat the Food of the Gods. I am practically a mortal god. And how dare that Goddess Artemis to slap me. She is beautiful though, I will give her that. I heard that she is the Goddess of Virginity. Perhaps I will take that away from her.' the governor thought angrily.
He is lucky that the gods were all gone, but he made the mistake of calling Artemis's name...
