| "i've never so adored you, i'm twisting allegories now. i want to complicate you; don't let me do this to myself"- 'far too young to die', panic! at the disco |

"okay, we've got hair dye, colored contacts, and temporary tattoos that look like permanent ones." niall spread his arms. "make yourselves inconspicuous and not look like yourselves."

zayn, for some odd reason, was rather interested to see what they came out looking like.

since they'd already given a display of their powers, they wouldn't need to be taken to mr. hill for evaluation. louis would show them around, and the five would be left to adapt from there. a gathering in the ugc would happen again soon enough.

michael was the first out. the only change he'd made was dying his hair a bright blue. which basically distracted you from looking at anything else.

"inconspicuous- not clearly visible or attracting attention." courtney read aloud from her phone.

"what? at least they aren't going to be looking at my face."

calum poked his head out the door. "mikey, you look like a highlighter."

"fuck you."

"not today, thanks."

ashlyn and ashton were out next. ashlyn had blue contacts in and her hair dip-dyed blonde.

"a perfect example of conspicuous." zayn said to michael, who didn't response.

ash had a fair amount of hair cut off- as did calum- and a rather ridiculous tattoo of a butterfly on his collar bone. no one questioned it.

then it was louis's job to take the five around and familiarize them with their- for now- new home. there was a chance that they could be transferred somewhere else, even though it didn't happen very often.

"and this is the ugc." louis said, fully aware of the people inside. "if you ever need to focus or expand on your powers, this is the place to go." he pointed across the room. "that section is marked off specifically for zayn, and that" he then pointed to jacob in his small crowd of friends. "is an asshole. do not approach under any circumstances."

no one asked why.

.

it was some time later that evening when louis came up to kris again.

he didn't know for what reason, exactly- but he had a faint grasp on the concept. she was his breath of fresh air.

they went outside, back to the same tree as before. this time, kris felt confident enough to sit just a little bit closer to him. after what felt like hours of peaceful, unbroken silence, louis spoke.

"how did you turn invisible?" he hadn't wanted to ask, but he'd felt a need to.
