Luke sat there, amused by our conversation, as an observer.
“I know, we’re freaks,” I admitted.
“Loveable freaks,” he replied, smiling up at me from his laying position on the couch. Perfect opportunity.
I flopped onto him, crushing him against the couch. “Still loveable?” I questioned, my head hovering above his.
He nodded and rubbed my shoulder blades lightly. Why did that give me tingles?
Beau chose that moment to bound into the room and stop dead in his tracks. “What’s going on here?” he asked, looking from me to Luke.
Summer rolled her eyes. “They’re messin’ about, dumb ass.”
“Well break it up, sluts, I will not have this behaviour in my house” he stated.
“Not your house,” I said impishly, moving my face closer to Luke’s. I could feel Beau glaring at me, and could see Luke grinning amusedly up at me. Totally playing Beau, I put my nose on Luke’s as if I were about to kiss him. Then, completing my game, my lips landed on his cheek and I rolled off of him.
I looked back at Luke, making sure that it was okay to do that, and he just looked at me, complete satisfaction on his face from winding up his brother. We both turned to see Beau glaring at us and burst out in hysterics.
“Aw, poor baby. Are you jealous?” I teased, jabbing at his leg.
“Whatever bitches,” he said, slumping down onto the couch and smacking Luke.
“Did you clean up properly?” Summer asked Beau.
“Don’t worry, me lady, it’s mopped and everything,” Daniel cut in, striding into the room.
“That was quick,” I scoffed. I had no idea that boys could clean at all- my brothers certainly couldn’t.
“When you wake up with a hangover from a party and remember your mum is due back from her night shift, you learn to clean up the evidence pretty fast,” Jay said, also entering the room and sitting on Beau’s knees.
“You guys have parties at your house often?” Summer asked, once again leaning against Daniel who was standing beside her.
Jay shook his head. “Nah. But we might be having one for Beau’s nineteenth next week.”
“We should hold it here,” I suggested.
“It’s big enough,” Summer added.
“You guys would be good with that?” Luke asked, sitting up.
Summer and I nodded, earning cheers from the boys.
“Cheers guys!” Jay said, wrapping his arms around my shoulders from behind.
I leant my head on his arm. “No problem. You guys are going to have to invite everyone though since I don’t know anyone apart from you crazies.”
“True. Hey, you girls still need to meet James!” Jay said, accidentally pulling my head back to hit his crotch. “Ouch!”
“You pulled me!” I exclaimed defensively. “You okay?”
“Maybe you should rub away the pain,” Daniel suggested, winking.
I would not be taken the piss out of. So, rising to the challenge, I moved my hand so that it lay on the crotch of his jeans. Everyone was instantly shocked- especially Jay, who’s breath hitched.
“Want me to rub it?” I asked through my eyelashes, smiling innocently.
Jay gulped. Everyone remained silent. He slowly shook his head, so I shrugged and removed my hand.
“Now I wish you’d hit my crotch,” Beau scoffed. We all laughed and shook our heads at him before returning to normal conversation.
“So what day is your birthday next week?” I asked.
“Tuesday,” came the reply from one of the twins, which one I had no idea.
“Want the party on your birthday or a different day?” I was making a mental note of everything to do with this party.
“On my birthday,” Beau replied, grinning.
“Tuesday it is,” I said, writing that on my mental list.
“Awesomeness,” Jay said, squeezing my shoulders. “Now I think we should play a game.”
“Oh yeah? What game?” Summer asked. Her and Daniel’s fingers were twined together. So cute.
“How about the cinnamon challenge?” I suggested, knowing full well Summer had bought some the previous day for this purpose. We’d talked about it on the car journey into Melbourne.
“I’m up for that,” the twins said in unison. It was creepy, but I was getting used to it.
“Cinnamon challenge it is,” Beau nodded, jumping off the couch and launching himself into the doorway.
We all followed and I halted when I saw the kitchen. They hadn’t been kidding, it was spotless.
“I know, shocker, right?” Luke said, edging past me.
I nodded, dumbfounded.
