“Hi, I’m Grace,” I butted in, shoving my hand in front of her face.

Summer looked at me curiously and I responded with a look that said, ‘What?’

“Er, hi, Grace,” she replied, releasing Luke. My body relaxed slightly.

“And you are…?” I questioned, unable to keep the bitterness from my words.

“I’m Roxy,” she replied, sticking out her chest and butt. Ugh. This girl, I did not like.

“Right. Well why don’t you go and grab a gun?”

She narrowed her eyes at me and then strutted off to the box, stopping on her way to bat her eyelashes at Hunter.

When I tore my eyes away from her, I saw pretty much everyone staring at me.

“What?” I asked innocently.

“You definitely don’t like Roxy,” Summer stated.

“No shit, Sherlock.” What was the point in hiding it?

“Don’t blame you,” Ari said. “She’s a bit of a slag. But boys don’t seem to mind that. Do you, Bays?”

Jay grinned cheekily, Beau looked slightly guilty and Luke was completely oblivious, grinning at me.

“Well she doesn’t do it for me, Ari. Only you,” Leon told his pixie-like girlfriend. She tiptoed and kissed him briefly.

“You guys are just too cute,” Roxy said in a sarcastic, bitter tone.

“You’re just jealous,” Leon said, kissing Ari’s head again.

Roxy rolled her eyes and strutted over to Luke. “Now why would I be jealous when I have Luke?”

She went to fling her arms around him again, but he practically swatted them away and scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “You don’t have me, Roxy,” Luke muttered. Roxy, bimbo that she is, didn’t take the hint.

“But you’re my little Lukey,” she pouted, trying once again to hug him. He dodged her and came to stand beside me. I grinned like I had won a prize. Jeez, later, I really needed to sort my head out.

“Looks like Lukey doesn’t want you, Roxy,” Ari giggled. Bitchy glares were quickly shot her way before another newcomer caught Roxy’s gaze.

“Well hello ladies,” a boy said, slipping his arm around my shoulder. I looked at him over my shoulder quizzically.

“You’re all such charmers here, aren’t you?” I said sarcastically.

“I’m Kai,” the boy announced, holding out his hand.

I shook it firmly and told him, “I’m Grace.”

His hair was jet-black, his eyes bright blue, his skin insanely tan and he had a small, diamond stud in one ear. He looked a fair bit younger than everyone else.

“Kai’s my younger brother,” Leon explained, ruffling Kai’s black hair.

“Younger, hotter brother,” Kai retorted.

Ari scoffed. “You’re not the one with a girlfriend though, are you?”

“Yet, Pixie. I like to keep my options open. And I am pleased I did,” he said, nodding at me approvingly.

I rolled my eyes and gunned his face until he was spluttering water everywhere.

Everyone clapped- except the bimbo- and I bowed.

“That,” Kai said, wiping the water from his face, “Was a beg for revenge.”

“Grab a gun and we’ll see who comes out on top,” I challenged. Everyone grabbed their fully loaded guns and split into two teams whilst the youngster retrieved his own water weapon.

The teams ended up as:

Bitches: Me, Summer, Luke, Ari and Leon.

Sluts: Roxy (how fitting), Beau, Jay, Kai and Hunter.

“You’re going down, sluts!” I announced; my team lined so we were facing theirs.

“Bring it on, bitches!” Beau shouted back.

Jay counted down from three, and then we were shooting water in all directions, drenching each other to the point where our clothes were sticking to us.

Beau tackled me to the ground at one point, earning us glares from both Roxy and the other Bay brothers. I rolled us over and pinned him to the ground, then shouted for everyone on my team to squirt him to his watery death.

Once the sluts were well and truly defeated and I had made sure Roxy looked like a drowned rat, I told my team to cease fire and we all slumped onto the ground, laughing.

“Oh yeah, we so came out on top,” I boasted, dropping my gun back into the box. Everyone copied my actions and Jay sidled up to me. The next second, he was bear-hugging me, his wet hair dripping onto me.

I shoved him off, ran my fingers through his hair and flicked his face with the water droplets I had acquired. He caught a couple of the drops on his tongue, reminding me once again of the kitchen scene with the popcorn.

Glancing across the circle, I found Roxy trying to cuddle-up with Luke. I gritted my teeth and strode over to them.

“Hey, Luke, wanna race me?” I asked, offering him freedom from the bimbo.

He nodded enthusiastically and I held out my hand to help him up. I tugged him to his feet and kept a hold on his hand, dragging him all the way to the huge oak tree.

“Okay, first from this tree to the monkey bars wins,” I told him, still holding his hand.

“You’re gonna have to let go of my hand if this is a race,” he snickered.

“Right,” I said, dropping it. “On the count of three.”

“Thanks for saving me from Roxy,” he whispered.

I grinned. “One.”

“I don’t like her in that way.”

“Two.”

“You’re going down, Gracie.”

Shit, why did he have to say that nickname? My knees weakened, impairing me slightly for the race.

“Three!” Luke shouted, sprinting off.

Despite my temporarily weak knees, I managed to catch up to him and over take, reaching the monkey bars seconds before him. I jumped up and caught a bar in my hands, letting myself hang with my top lifted, showing my tan stomach.

Luke copied me, letting me see his toned abs without the wet t-shirt in the way.

“You can run seriously fast,” he stated.

I nodded proudly. “Grew up with brothers.”

My thoughts were still derailed by his abs; the abs that had been beneath my fingers the previous night as I had slept.

“Beat by a girl,” Hunter said, sauntering over with his pants riding low. He was asking for a wedgie.

Dropping from the bars, I walked over to him. “What’s so surprising about that?”

“Girls aren’t as fast as boys. It’s general knowledge,” he shrugged. I glared at him, grabbed his trousers and yanked them upward, lifting him off the ground for a split second.

“Ouch!” he yelped.

“You shouldn’t wear your pants so low; you’re practically begging for a wedgie. It’s general knowledge,” I shrugged back, dusting my hands together.
