Part Five
The boy began walking over to us. His pants were draped loosely around his backside, revealing his black boxers and he had a silver chain around his neck. The way he wore his pants made me wonder how they stayed up.
“I guess he’s not at my house,” Luke said, spotting the boy.
I peered up at Luke. “Daniel?” I asked. He nodded just before Daniel reached us.
“Hey Luke. Who’s this?” He gestured to me.
“Grace,” I said, cutting Luke off before he could start.
“American!” Daniel squealed. He sounded oddly like Summer.
The side of my mouth quirked into an amused smile, practically mirroring Luke’s expression. “Yeah.”
James cleared is throat. “What’s up? I’m Daniel.”
“Hey,” I said, nodding at him like boys do to girls. I’d picked up a couple of things from my brothers.
“Where’d you find her?” Daniel asked Luke.
This time, my eyebrow quirked. “I’m not a dog that he found on the street. I just moved here with my friend, Summer.”
Now he looked like a dog- his ears perking at Summer’s name.
“So the American has a lady friend,” he said, lifting his eyebrows suggestively.
“Yes. But I suggest you stay the hell away from her if your intentions are just to get into her pants simply because of her accent.”
“Don’t mess with her dude,” Luke said, trying not to laugh.
“Or what?” Daniel challenged.
I smiled mischievously and- without even thinking about it- bent down, grabbed his pants and yanked them down. His boxers were on full display. The parents covered their children’s eyes and hurried them away.
Daniel looked down in disbelief and then looked back at me whilst pulling his pants back up. “Fair warning, Luke. Well played, Grace.”
My grin was one of pride.
“Nice girl you got there, Luke,” Daniel said, gesturing to me with his chin.
“She’s not my girl, Dan, so just shut up,” he said, punching his friend in the shoulder. It looked hard enough to get the point across.
“Whatever, mate. I’m heading to your house. Coming?”
“Well I’m kinda giving Grace a tour right now,” Luke said, looking to me.
“We should go back to yours. I need to wake Summer up, too, so her body gets used to the time gradually.”
Luke nodded and we turned and headed back to the house, this time with Daniel by our side. Goodbye alone time with Luke.
“So how old are you?” Daniel asked my, tucking his hands into his pockets.
“Eighteen. You?”
“Seventeen, same as me,” Luke replied for him.
I nodded understandingly. “Explains the immaturity.”
Luke scoffed and Daniel glared at me. “Feisty one, aren’t you?”
“Proudly so,” I stated.
We walked straight past the Brook household and to my house. Minutes later, I was shaking Summer awake.
“Wake up bitch!” I shouted in her ear. Payback was a bitch.
“Go away, shit face,” she groaned, rolling over.
