The Whole Nine Yards

Chapter 18

Kong sees M playing again on his phone. Ever since middle school,
M has been obsessed with apps and onlines games.

'Wanna join a club?' he asked his friend.
' I don't have other interests right now.' M replied

'Aren't you tired of that?'
'Besides basketball I only like playing online games.'
'It's not about what you already like, maybe it's also about what you want to learn,' Kong explained to M.
'Yeah? So what do you want to learn?'
'Cook.' Kong answered.
'What?' the surprised M asked Kong.
'For the life of me, I can't cook anything.'
'You're really gonna do it?'
' Won't hurt, come join me?' Kong invited M who just nodded.

There were several clubs in the university club expo. M and Kong were looking around when they saw many people gathering in one booth.

It was the cosplay club and a beautiful heroine was there. To his suprise, Arthit was there leaning on the booth. Their gazes met. They just stared at each other. They were so swamped with school work that they never met this week.

Kong just nodded as he stared at the girl in costume. It was the same girl on the field with PArthit. She is really gorgeous as clued in by so many students approaching her. She went to Arthit but Arthit was looking at him.

Kong greeted the seniors who just arrived. Then M called him, so he bidded them goodbye.

'Is it just me or there was a moment of silence here?' Bright asked.
'There was.' Toota confirmed.
'Ai'Arthit, what's with you and Kong.' Knot asked
'Nothing.' Arthit replied.

He excused himself and looked around for Kong. He found him in a booth, smiling to a group of girls.

'You will really join us?'
'Why not? M?' Kong turned to his friend.
'I'm in too.' M agreed.

The girls looked elated.

'Is that a culinary club he was signing up for?' Arthit looked at Kong. He hardly saw him this week. Arianna met up with him and it was a whirlwind from there on.

Arthit followed Kong with his gaze when Kai approached him. He saw Kong introduce M to Kai and soon, Kongpob was laughing with the two of them.

'Why are you stalking your own fann? ' someone whispered.

Arthit almsot jumped in surprise.

'Darn it. Bright.' He hissed.
'Oh there's NongKai.' Bright pointed at Kai
'You know him?
' He ate with Kong in our cafeteria this week. Toota said his name is Kai.' Bright explained in a hush voice.
'Kong ate with him there? When?'
' Last Monday. If I think about it, it was weird because Kong looked like he ate lunch past 3 pm.'

Monday, lunch. Why is Arthit feeling like he missed something?

The following day, he left his friends  to wait for Kong so they can eat together. But when he saw Kong in the engineering cafeteria, he was already eating with his friends and Kai.

' Isn't that the genius Kai?' a girl in the nearby table asked her friend.
' Yes. I wonder why he's always here?'
' Rumors say he is wooing Kong?
' Kong is with PArthit, right?'
' Well, I haven't seen them together since the party. Maybe they broke up.' the girl wondered.

'Wouldn't you want to know?' he glared at his juniors

The two scrambled to get away from him. Arthit hissed as Kong was already out of the door with Kai.

He called him.

'Yes P?'
'Where are you?' Arthit sternly asked.
'I'm about to study with my partner.'
'Study with me.' he demanded.
' We're studying economics. But can I study with you later?'
'Fine.' He cut off the line.

'That was weird.' Kong thought.

Kong and Kai were heading home when Kong spotted Arthit in one of the benches. Arthit stood up.

"Let's go home together.'Arthit demanded while staring down Kai.

Kong was suprised  both by the staredown and the offer to go home together. Kai greeted the senior, it was the one he saw with the girl. His gaze flicked back and forth between the two plus Kong didn't greet the senior as a junior is supposed to do.

'I' ll go ahead, Kai.'

Kai nodded and he saw Kong's face  brighten up when he talked with the senior. As a genius, nothing really surprises Kai anymore. But Kong and the senior? Wow.

When they arrived in Arthit's dorm, Kong prepared the food.

'Are you close with NongKai?' Arthit asked.
'You know him?' Kong asked Arthit back. 'What's with the question?' Kong pondered.

'Bright told me you had lunch with him last Monday in our cafeteria'
'Ah yes I did.' Kong confirmed.
'There are rumors that he is wooing you.' Arthit informed Kong.
'What?!' Kong is shocked.
' Because he's always in our cafeteria.'
'Oh, he says he liked the food better.' Kong explained.
'Is that really it?' Arthit cocked his brow at him.
'What is your problem, P?' Kong finally confronted his fann. Arthit has been on the edge today.

'Why did you take him there last Monday?' Arthit asked.

Kongpob didn't say anything.

'Aren't you going to say anything? I'M.ASKING YOU.' Arthit demanded from Kong.
'I don't want to fight with you,P. I'm hungry.' Kong evaded.

Arthit is boiling now. He grabbed the chopsticks Kong was holding then he threw them on the floor.

Kong's eyes widened. Arthit's bad temper is really something else.

'Are you together?!' Arthit accused.
'What the hell P?' he glared at the older man.
' So why aren't you answering my question?
'You really want me to answer that? Kong clarified.
'Yes.'
'I bought him there because I ate his snack. ' Kong explained.
So you share food now huh!?'

Arthit is seething with anger now. How can Kong do that with that guy?

' He shared to me his snack because I missed lunch.' Kong is trying his best to calm down now.
'Or you purposely missed lunch so he will have an excuse to give you his food? Arthit accused Kong.

Kong looked at him in disbelief. Where are these things coming from?Kongpob wanted to meet Arthit's anger head on but he just took a deep breath and stared coldly into the eyes of Arthit.

'I missed lunch because I waited over an hour for somebody. When I asked that person whom he had lunch with, he said he had lunch with his friends but turns out I saw him laughing and talking with a girl in the university cafeteria that same day.' Kong's cold tone matched the coldness of his stare.

Arthit's eyes widened
'Did I answer your question now?' Kong coldly  inquired that Arthit was caught off guard.

'Kong...?' Arthit's voice was shaking.
'I lost my appetite.'

Kong walked out.
