The Whole Nine Yards

Chapter 31

'Kai!' Kong called when he spotted Kai in the hallway.
'I did our paper.' Kai handed out a folder.
'Oh..is there anything else I can help with?'
'None.' Kai begun to walk away
'Kai don't be like this,' Kong said.

Kai sighed, 'I can still eat with you'
'Yes but...'
'You dont know how your boyfriend will react? So what do I do Kong?' Kain confronted him.

Kong remained silent.
' We're friends,too. Is he going to stop you from making friends?'
'But you confessed...'
' I can handle myself, I'm dealing with it. But you and I know that we are friends.'

Kong just sighed as Kai left.

Arthit was studying with his friends when Kong came in and his Uncle was going out of the hall. Kong greeted his Uncle.

The fact that Professor Penn knew has different effects on the couple. Kongpob was like a mad man let loose. He eats with Arthit whenever he can, he finds excuses to sit with with him, even in the library.

But Arthit is more conscious than now. Eversince the senior knew nothing escapes his Uncle, he's more aloof now than ever. This puzzles Kongpob.

While Kongpob saw that dinner as a greenlight that Arthit's rule not to intrract has been lifted, on the other hand, it made Arthit feel on the edge.

And Arthit's friends noticed,

'Arthit, what crawled into your butt and stayed there?' Prem asked.
' No one's touching anyone's butt,' he yelled.

The four gaped at him. Arthit looked at them.Why did he say that?

'Are you alright?' Knot asked.
'No.'
'Why?'
'Uncle knows about me and Kong.'
' Um, aren't you suppose to parade your boyfriend around now? Instead, he looks worse, pining . If Thailand isn't a tropical country, we would have a forest of pine trees with the amount pining stares he throws our way.' Toota said.

He looked up. Indeed Kong is staring at them. Arthit cannot even understand himself, he knew he has nothing to fear from his Uncle now. But his Uncle's persona in school is so different when it is just the two of them. Arthit is confused even more.

Then there's the issue of Kai, he still hangs around their cafeteria. If Kai is still friends with Kong like nothing happened and Arthit is just a few tables from them, what would Kai do if he's away once his internship starts?

The next day, Arthit heard cooing.

'Is there a puppy here or something?' Bright asked as students were gathered around making cooing sounds.

The students gathered made way for the seniors. In the middle of the crowd is Kong with a cute little blonde boy looking warily at the students swarming them.

Dan don't know anyone. He wants to see P'Pob and his mom brought him here while she do stuff. Now so many people here, strangers. He isn't a shy child but the the people came to them all at once. Made him nervous. Then he saw tall man peer at him.

'Oh little boy'. Kai said.

' Who is he?' He's big man. Not pretty, he's scary and angry' Dan decided he doesn't like him. He fussed.

Kong pulled him back to look at him.
'Are you alright?'

Kong is worried. Dan is a well adjusted child but he is fussing now and Kong has no idea why.

Dan placed his hand in his mouth was about to answer when he caught someone in the crowd. He will recognize that face everywhere. Pretty face.

'P'PrettyHit!' he yelled and pointing at the same time.

The students turned and saw that the cute child is pointing at the former Head Hazer.

'Did he really call him Pretty hit?' asked one.
'Pretty... ' murmurs were heard across the crowd.

Arthit was stunned. His friends as well.

'P'PrettyHit.' Dan called in distress.
No response still.

' Did he forget about me?' Dan held out his arms to the older man. In the sea of strangers, he want Arthit to take him. His Uncle seemed clueless after all.

Arthit seemed to have recovered from his daze and went to them.

'P'PrettyHit!' Dan's lips are quivering, he's moving restlessly from where he is standing on Kong's lap.

He took the little child.

'Hello KhunDan' Arthit said.
'P'Prettyhit.'Dan nuzzled his soft locks on Arthits cheeks.

Kong looks stupefied as the crowd. The notorious Arthit holding and comforting a child is something you don't see everyday. Everyone cooed at the scene before them

'What are you all looking at?! He glared at everyone. They dispersed swiftly like swatted flies. His friends stayed.

'Who is he Kong?' Toota asked.
'My nephew.'
Oh.

'Why didn't you tell those students to go away? They were overwhelming Dan.' Arthit glared at the sophomore.
'I....I didn't know.' Kong replied.

Arthit glared at him, then he heard sniggers.

' What now?' he raised his brow at his friends.
'You sounded like a wife chastising her husband who can't properly tend your son while you are away.' Bright quipped.

'W---'
'Prettyhit, Im hungry.!' Dan wailed.

Their friends burst out laughing and exclaimed, ' See?!'

From the sidelines, Kai saw everything. Now, PArthit is holding the toddler to stand on his lap while Kong is asking his nephew what he wants to eat.

The toddler answered with conviction: Arthit food. Not Uncle. Kong just laughed and went to get their food. Arthit helped the toddler drink while Kong prepares their food.

Kai can guess what everyone in the cafeteria is thinking from the scene that they are witnessing. The three of them look like a little family with Kong providing the food and Arthit tending their 'child.'

Kai smiled. He is starting to understand, he may not comprehend what Kong sees in Arthit but it is starting to make sense why Kong cannot like him. Kai just hopes he can stay as friends with Kong.

Note:

My mind says, fluff, fluff,fluff but I can't just abandon this arc. Why does Arthit/Kai have to make things difficult? ( Dont mind me,please.lol).

I just needed some cuteness so yeah, Dan to the rescue.😝
