I decided to go to the beach.
I stopped by her room and knocked on her door.
She opened up.
She was wearing a black one piece and sunglasses.
"Ready?" I asked.
"I guess," Clara said. "But I need to ask. Why? Why are you asking me out?"
"Because you're not only dating me because I'm..."
"Mr.LipPeircingPopularGuy?"
"Yeah. Also, you seem, different."
Something about her just, I don't know, stood out, like a Frootloop in a Cheerios box.
She's not a clone.
"Okay, well, I'm dating you because you asked. And I think you need someone to keep you off your high horse at times," she smirked and walked to my car.
She is fantastic.
---
The beach was full like usual and we got our spot set.
"So, why are you here?" I asked.
"I moved here from London this year. Trouble back home."
"Ah," I said.
"What all are we going to do?"
"Go to the beach, then go get a meal. Then we drive around a little."
"Okay. Come on. Let's play volley ball."
"Do you play?"
"Nope."
"Well okay then."
I got up and followed her to the net.
"Can we join?" Clara asked.
"Who are you?" Asked a tall Hispanic girl.
"I'm Clara and that's Luke."
"Okay," she said. "Guys, this is Clara and Luke!"
Everyone waved.
"You two will be on my team," she said, "I'm Michelle."
"Hey," I said.
On the first serve, Clara smacked the ball over the net and we got a point.
I tried next, but it hit the net.
"I suck at this," I said.
"Come on, you'll get it," she said.
I sighed.
I struck the ball again, this time it made it. "Yes!"
"Told ya'," Clara said.
We played for a while longer, then we went to a little Café close by.
Clara and I both ordered cheese burgers and soda.
"How's the date so far?"
"So far so good."
"Yes."
"Tell me about yourself. Friends?"
"Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, and Michael Clifford. You?"
"So far? Luke Hemings."
"Oh yeah."
Forgot she just moved here.
"And I like adventures."
"Really?"
"Yes, I got tired of a big city like London. No excitement, I wanted to come to Australia because of the things like the Outback and surfing and stuff."
"You wanted an adventure."
"Yeah."
"That's actually really cool. Did you're family come too?"
"Um... no. My family didn't come."
"Why not?"
"Family trouble, remember?"
Oh yeah. I was going to ask what "family troubles" were. But it would make her uncomfortable I bet. So I left the subject alone.
"I like music," I said. "I can sing and play guitar."
"I can't do either," Clara said. "I can listen to music. I'm more athletic."
"Oh," I said. I'm not very sporty...""I can tell," Cara said with a smile.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I laughed.
"Let's see, you're hair looks nicer than mine and I'm a GIRL, and you're not the most buff either..." Cara laughed.
"Ha ha, you are so funny," I said sarcastically.
We laughed.
Then I looked into her eyes.
Then, I felt weird. Like my stomache did a backflip.
Cara looked at her phone. "Oh God, it's 8, I need to study! We've got a test Friday and no one's going easy on me in classes."
"Oh, right," I said, tryng not to sound dissapointed. "Um, let's go."
We went back to the school and I walked back to her room.
"I had fun, Luke," Cara said. "Let's do this again."
Kiss her. KISS HER YOU IDIOT!!!
"Yeah," I said.
Cara began to turn to her door.
"Um, Cara?" I said.
She turned to me.
"So are we...like..."
"Dating?" Cara smiled. "Hold on, Hot Guy, we're dating. We'll give titles later."
She closed the door.
"Okay."
"Go to bed, Luke!" Cara said throught the door.
