German's POV
I was sat at Angie's side when I noticed something in my pocket. It was a recording. I remember I had found it when Angie had left.
I waited until Vilu and Leon went to speak to the doctor and then I put the earphones in. I pressed play.
I heard Angie's sweet voice.
"German, I know I will be gone when you hear this, but I just want to say that you have really hurt me. I am your wife and I want to ask if you remember this?"
Then a song began to play. It sent shivers up my spine to hear her sing that song. Our song.
Tears came to my eyes as I remembered the time Angie and I went to the recording studio with Vilu and when she was on her lunch break and everyone left, we recorded a song. But not just any song. Our song. The song we both loved. The song we both connected to. The song that was playing when I proposed. Wait! I remember proposing to Angie, I remember our song! I remember US! But, I might never get her back. The last part of the song was playing and Angie's sweet voice sang the lines
Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling,
And everytime we kiss, I swear I could fly,
Can't you feel my heart beat fast,
I want this to last,
Need you by my side.
Then I heard words broke my heart into even tinier pieces.
"But it's all past tense now because you don't love me anymore."
And then, a tear ran down my face, and I broke down crying harder and harder. And in that moment I didn't care that I was not being strong and I didn't care that I probably looked like an idiot. But I did care that this was real and I might lose Angie.
