BEVERLY HILLS - The Lords and rulers of HBO want "Game of Thrones" fans to know that all is well in Westeros despite the fact "Thrones" creator George R.R. Martin hasn't finished the next book.

HBO programming president Michael Lombardo assured TV critics here that even if Martin hasn't finished it by the end of next season, the show will go on.

"Obviously George is an integral part of the creative team," said Lombardo. "With respect to next season, every move is being choreographed very closely with him.

"After next year, we will have to figure it out with George if his book's not finished. But we're in conversations with him. We're not concerned."

"Thrones" recently wrapped up its fourth season and has been renewed for seasons five and six. It has become the most popular show in HBO history, passing "The Sopranos."

Perhaps because HBO doesn't even want to think about the show ending, CEO Richard Plepler downplayed reports of Martin saying he'd like to end the series with a movie.
