Chapter 30

Arlette's POV

"Hey so my aunt invited us to my cousin's baby shower and I wanted to know if you were up to go" Dylan says as he is serving breakfast. "Sure, they live in Seattle right?" "Yeah, it's in a week." "Yeah for sure I'm up to go." "One thing you need to know but you can't bring it up unless they do first, okay?" "Ok." "So you know how we came here 10 years ago" he says sitting down across from me. "Yeah." "So my aunt had recently had a baby after my uncle left her. The baby's name was Alexandrea. One night we were all asleep and Alexandrea was sleeping in the nursery. In the morning my aunt went to check on her since she hadn't heard her cry. When she looked in her crib she wasn't there. She came into the game room where Sissy, Austin, Joshua, and I were and asked us if we had seen the baby. We told her no and so she started panicking. We looked all over the house for Alexandrea. While we were checking the living room we saw that the door was slightly open. My aunt was crying by now. We all went outside and tried looking for Alexandeea. We even went to the neighbors. They had said they had not heard or seen anything. My aunt immediately called the cops saying that Alexandrea had been kidnapped. When the officers came we had told them everything we knew. A few weeks had past by and they still couldn't find her. My aunt cried and argued with the cops telling them how long it has been since she had disappeared. After another few weeks the cops came again the my aunt's house. They had informed us that they had found the baby in a lake a city over. They had said someone saw the body wash up. My aunt yelled and cried for weeks saying hiw it was all her fault. 2 months later they had finally caught the guy who had kidnapped and murdered Alexandrea. He was sent to prison for his whole life. My family and I stayed a while after they had caught the guy. We wanted to help out my aunt. After a few months my mom decided to move out here to New York because it was too much chaos for her." "Oh my god, that's horrible" I say. "Yeah so please dont bring it up unless they do" he says pleading. "I promise I won't. Like I wouldn't like them explaining it to me if they did bring it up and go through all that again." "Thanks for understanding."

Present day

"So she had another dream about Alexandrea last night" Dylan explains to me while he is doing his laundry. "That's horrible. Is she ok?" I ask concerned. "Well she went back to sleep just fine and she didn't wake up for the rest of the night." "Well at least she was able to sleep." "She asked if I could go to her appointment for the baby later today and I told her yes. I also told her to ask if the dreams are like a side affect or something." I I hope they are because why would she all of a sudden start having dreams about her?" "I really don't know."

Sissy's POV

After school I get in Joshua's car and we drive of to my house to pick up Dylan. "So you had another one of those dreams?" he asks. "Yeah, Dylan was there with me though." "At least you weren't alone. Did you tell your mom?" "Yeah, I told her." Joshua grabs my hand and kisses it. When we get to my house I text Dylan that we are outside. He comes out and gets in the back. "Hi guys are Dylan says putting his seatbelts on. "Hey" both Joshua and I say. When we get to the office I go up to the receptionist and tell her I have a 4:30 appointment. After 15 minutes of waiting I finally hear my name get called out. All 3 of us head toward the room where the doctor does an ultrasound. "So your baby looks healthy and you should be due in a week in a half or 2." "Ok great" I say as she wipes away the gel from my stomach. "I do have a question" I say sitting up. "For the last couple of days I've been having flashbacks of my baby sister..." I start tearing up. Joshua grabs my hand and Dylan explains to her the whole story. "Well it can be that you are getting closer to having your baby you get these nightmares because you fear it will happen to your baby" the doctor says. "Oh ok, but does this usually happen to other people?" I ask. "Very few people have flashbacks like yours, but it's completely fine." "Oh ok, thank you." "No problem. So this is your last appointment here so no need to book another one." "Thank you for all your help." "You are very welcome" she says hugging me. "Well it was good to meet you Dylan and Joshua, you are going to be a great father." "Thank you doctor" Joshua says shaking her hand. After that we leave and head home. "We tell Austin, Arlette, and my mom what the doctor had said. "Oh honey" my mom says hugging me. After a while of talking we all decide to go to bed. Joshua helps me up the stairs and into my room. "I love you so very much" Joshua says closing the door. "I do to" I say wrapping my hands around his neck and kissing him. The kiss deepens and the next thing I know is that I'm laying on my bed with Joshua on top of me, and me taking off his shirt.
