"What?! What's cake? Is it like a code word between you two?!"

You shook your head and smiled.

"No, I mean actually cake. Well not cake but dessert. I'm supposed to make a dessert for Mr. Kim's class."

Jae nodded.

"Oh yeah, Dowoon told me about that. His partner is Jimin. Aren't you supposed to have a partner?"

You nodded.

"I do have a partner... but it's Dahyun. She claimed to be busy today, so I have to make the dessert on my own."

Jae looked annoyed.

"She's always like that, isn't she?"

You nodded.

"Actually Jae, maybe you should go now. I have a lot of work to do."

Jae didn't say anything for a moment.

"Do you have short term memory loss, Y/n?"

You furrowed your eyebrows.

"What? No..."

"Because I thought I made it pretty clear that you're my friend... What kind of friend would let you deal with this on your own? If Dahyun is going to be like that to you, then I'll be your partner."

A surprised expression was on your face.

"R-really?"

"Of course! Come on, I know how to make a cake!"

You and Jae both made your way to the kitchen.

You both decided on making a chocolate cake. That would probably be around the easiest.

You started getting out ingredients.

You thought you had them all, but apparently you forgot something.

"Do you not have any eggs?"

'Oh... duh.'

"Yeah, I do. Sorry I forgot."

Jae shook his head and smiled. His messy blonde hair covered his eyes.

"That's like the most obvious ingredient, Y/n."

You meant to get them out of the fridge, but you didn't move and a smile appeared on your face.

"Y/n?"

You realized how dumb you looked and snapped out of it.

"What?! Yeah sorry, got it."

You got out the last of the ingredients, and the two of you started to make the cake.

Started mixing things together, but Jae insisted you were doing it wrong.

"Why are you mixing it so violently? You're going to make a mess."

Too violently. Yeah right. You knew what you were doing.

You ignored Jae's comment, and finished mixing the ingredients.

"There. I'm done."

Jae laughed at you for some reason and replied.

"Yeah, but I was right. You got cake batter all over your face."

You frowned and squinted your eyes.

"I do not!"

"Yes you do."
