Twenty-Six

Biology didn't take too long.

Jimin was there, and you were talking like you usually do, but it was just small talk really.

You were thinking of the look on Jae's face. What was he thinking?

You figured you would ask him about it at break.

Anyways, after the bell rang, you grabbed your crutches and walked out with Jimin.

You both went to music class, and sat in your seats.

You didn't even pay attention.

The bell rang again. And you got up with Jimin.

Jimin was about to start walking to where you two normally go, but you stopped her.

"Jimin, wait."

She stopped, and looked at you funny.

"What?"

"Can you help me find Jae?"

She didn't say anything at first, but spoke up soon after.

"Why would you need to see Jae? Aren't you going to have lunch with him again?" Jimin's eyes widened. "Did he not invite you to have lunch again? Do I have to fight him?!"

You grabbed Jimin's arm and signaled for her to shut up.

"It's not about that! I just need to ask him something..."

Your eyes dropped to the floor.

"Fine. Let's go. But from now on, break is strictly reserved for me."

You nodded.

After some time running/stumbling across the campus, you finally found Jae sitting with DAY6 in the garden.

As soon as you saw them, words slipped out of your mouth.

"Dammit, why didn't I think of looking here first?"

Jimin chuckled, and shoved you a little bit towards them.

You almost fell, but lucky for you, you didn't, and you awkwardly walked towards DAY6.

When you started to walk, Jae almost immediately made eye contact with you.

Before you could say anything, Jae spoke up.

"Sorry Y/n, we're kind of busy."

All of his band members looked at him confused.

"Dude, what are you talking about, we aren't doing anything..."

Jae glared at Young K for speaking, and came up with another excuse.

"Dude, yes we are. We're about to have a band meeting! Y/n, you should go!"

You turned around to walk away, but Young K spoke up again.

"Y/n, don't go anywhere."

You stopped where you were and turned back around.

Young K grabbed Jae by the arm.

"Y/n obviously wants to talk to you. We aren't busy. Stop making excuses and go talk to her."

Finishing his last sentence, he pushed Jae towards you and smiled at you.

Jae stumbled towards you a little bit, and this time didn't say a word. He looked down at you, and smiled awkwardly.
