First day on the job

"So what's going on, Exactly?" I ask as I'm quickly sat down in a makeup chair.

"One of our actresses quit, we need you to fill in until we find an official replacement," Michelle explains.

"So this is all temporary?" I ask.

"Yes." She says.

"Got it," I say, glancing at myself in the mirror. 

"So, here's how this'll work. You're in just your shells, and some leggings. This how you will approach the makeup chair. We're only doing your make up today because we're in a rush. You will walk to the grotto. Once there, you will be put into your tail, got it?" She asks.

"Yep." I nod.  

"You've already taken autograph classes?"

"As of five minutes ago, yes,"

"Good, remember, be nice and NO breaking character," 

"Got it,"

"Hi there! Swim on over!" I smile to the little girl in my Ariel voice. The girls' eyes open wide. "How are you today?" 

"I'm really good," She smiles. "Could you sign this?" She asks, pulling out her autograph books. 

"Of course," I say, opening up to an open page and signing. "You seem like a dancer, do you dance?"

"I do!" She smiles. 

"Do you maybe wanna learn the Seaweed Shuffle?"" I smile.

"Okay!" She smiles. So, I recreate the little dance from the ride, we talk more, and she's out. The next people to come in is a family of four. There are two girls, one look about... 18, the other looks 12. The mom and dad walk in, and they're all smiling. The father wears a shirt that says "I conquered It's a Small World'.

"Swim on over humans!" I smile. We take a few pictures, and I look over to the dad. "Sir, I'm just going to be honest, that's not that big of an accomplishment," We all share a laugh. 

"Could you please take a video for my friend, Ariana, back at home?" The youngest girl ask.

"Sure," I smile as she pulls out her phone. "Ariana," I repeat t myself. 

"I'm rolling," She smiles, we all laugh. 

"Oh! Hi Ariana! I hope you're having fun splashing around, you should come splash around with me sometime, and flounder. We'd have lots of fun looking for looking for treasure," I smile, blowing a kiss. 

"Thank you so much!" She smiles as they get up. 

"Bye guys!"

There was only one family left in the line, then I could get out of here, and be a normal human who can show other emotions other than happiness. And who came in, made me almost break character. hen I saw them, I just wanted to curl up and cry.

I just had the weirdest call of my life. This guy called asking for my parents, I said that they couldn't come to the phone, I guess I sounded young because he told me to write it down with a 'Scribble Stick'. I said I hadn't used one in a long time, and hung up.
