"My baby's down there!" The mother shrieks. I don't think. I can't wait for emergency services! He'll be dead by then! I can only think of one thing....
I grasp the handle bar with both hands. I swing my legs up and over. I have no regard for the fact that I'm in a skirt. My hands leave the grasp of the handle bar, dragging me down with gravity. My hands, hair, arms, and limbs dangle as I drop to the water.
I hit the freezing cold water, and let out a shriek just to show how cold it is. My feet brush the bottom, and I start to go under. As much pain as it causes me, I open my eyes to see him. Just find the red shirt. I repeat to myself over and over again. I spin around in circles trying to find him.
I swim about, moving my arms and legs as fast I could. Stroking the water with every movement. I start to see color in the water. I swim closer and closer to it. I finally get close enough to grab it. I swiftly swing my arm to grab it, and see what it is. Flowers. Drat. Air... I need air. Oh crap! I need air!
I swiftly swim up. I gasp for air, and a gasp of hope comes from the crowd. I go back down, feeling the disappointment from the crowd. I keep searching, harder and harder. I swim everywhere. Up and down. Side to side.
Just keep looking for the red, Amber. Don't give up. Find him. Find him. I start to see colors go in front of me. What if it's flowers again? Amber! Don't think like that! It's worth a try, no matter what.
Going farther and farther in the lake. I follow the color wherever it goes. I start to see shorts next to the color. It's him. I keep getting closer, and closer to him. I grab him by the ankle. Then the arm pits.
Carrying him up, I throw him over my shoulder, and swim toward shore. He lies unconscious on my shoulder. I place him down on the grass, and start pressing his chest. His body irks with every push. Come on. Come on! You can do this!
I press and check repeatedly for minutes. You can do this little dude! I check once more, fearing we lost him. Bump.
"Yes little dude!" I mutter under my breath. I repeat until I feel a solid beat. He wakes up with a gasp. "You're Okay!" I squeal as I help him up. I hear cheering, and whistling from above. A loud applause overcomes the park. I can't even hear the TTA (look it up if you don't know what it is). It feels like the whole park is up there. Firefighters start to come down, and take the toddler.
"Nice work!" One says as she gives me a thumbs up. I follow all of them up the hill, back onto solid ground. The cheering gets louder, and louder. Many people lean into me, trying to get a selfie. I grin into the cameras of a few people.
"Wow. That was amazing!" One says as he shakes my hand.
"Thanks!"
"I'm supposed to guide you to an EMT."
"Oh. Ok."
"Right this way!" He Disney points me, and attempts to go through the castle. But, the crowd follows so we have to make a detour in Cinderella's Castle. He takes me through a cast member door, and to another cast member on a go cart.
"Is it REALLY her?" She asks in awe.
"The one and only!" He pats my back.
"Oh... my gosh!" She jumps. Her name tag reads Sharon, and she wouldn't stop talking!
She kept talking about how this put a great mark on the company. 5 minutes later, we get to another elevator that takes us to the parking area where ambulance lights illuminate the structure.
I'm sat down on a bed, where my temperature and breathing levels are checked.
"That her?" I tall boy with blond hair asks. I admit, he did look a little handsome.
"Yep." The paramedic responds.
"Can I help you?" I ask.
"Come with me, please."A/N: Heyo! Sorry I haven't been on my usual posting schedule, I just got too lazy. Thanks for reading! :)
