YOUR POV

The sound of metal hangers scraping against the metal bar it hung on overlapped the soft pop music playing on the speakers. I watched as Veronica pulled out the same kind of white collar dresses over and over. Betty did the same, but for her it was tight fit sweaters. I let myself fall back against the white wall of the boutique. The leather jacket was folded and draped against my arm, the mall was overwhelmingly warm. Veronica's lips wiggled from side to side as she studied a burgundy dress with a white collar. Once she was decided, she threw the dress over her forearm and moved to the next section of clothes.

I let my eyes drift around the bright boutique. My face perpetuated being bored and unamused. I wasn't actually bored, but I was thinking about all the events that unfolded in the last seven hours. The figure of a person walking past the shop caught my eye. It was a girl with wild curly brown hair, she looked so familiar. She suddenly stopped in her tracks and entered the shop.

"Veronica! Betty!" She exclaimed and ran over to the pair of best friends.

"Oh, Josie!" Veronica replied with a forced smile. Do they not like her?

"What are you girls doing here?" Josie asked, oblivious to the forced smiles on the blond and raven haired girls.

"Trying to get this girl some new clothes," Betty explained and pointed towards me.

I gave a half smile and peeled myself off the wall, walking towards them. Once joined in the group of girls, I crossed my arms and waited for Betty to give me hints as to what's going on.

"I don't believe we've met! I'm Josie," she introduced with a huge smile, flaunting her white teeth.

      "(Y/n)," I replied in a monotone voice.

"Where do you go to school?" She questioned, shifting her weight onto the foot closest to me.

"Riverdale High," I said with a quick smile.

"Wait, when did you start there?" She continued to question, her smile twisted into a confused frown.

"Today," I explained with a short laugh and uncrossed my arms.

"Awesome, we'll have to hang out soon! If you're a good singer you should join our singing group!" She suggested, my mind flew back to this afternoon when Cheryl opened a conversation with me, using a similar sentence.

I just nodded and smiled softly. She said goodbye to us and trotted out of the shop.

"Okay, spill. Why don't you like her?" I questioned Betty and Veronica and crossed my arms once again.

"We like her," they replied in unison and shot each other a quick glance.

I raised an eyebrow and stared at both of them.
