CHAPTER 15

The smile vanished from my face when I saw Reeve.

But I tried to keep myself calm. Gusto kong magalit at gusto ko siyang tanungin kung bakit nakalimutan o sadyang kinalimutan niya na may pupuntahan kami ngayon. Pero hindi ko naman yun magawa. Hindi niya naman ako girlfriend.

Bestfriend lang.

Bitter? Oo. Nakakainis eh.

"Hey," bati ko. I tried to keep my voice as flat as possible.

Reeve didn't reply. He just kept on frowning. Napatingin ako kay Ryan who just shrugged.

"Let's go," Reeve said as he opened the door of the same Porsche Cayenne we used for shopping.

"Uhhh..."

Sa totoo lang, naiinis pa ko sa kanya. Kapag sumama ako, sisimangot nanaman yan tulad ng dati tapos malalagay nanaman ako sa silent treatment. At aba, bakit parang ako pa yung may kasalanan?

"Drei," Reeve called. His voice held a warning.

"You go ahead. Sorry. We're going out to get pizza. You can come if you want."

Reeve's eyes flashed with anger. Sabay sara sa pinto ng kotse. The sound echoed across the deserted parking lot. Hindi siya nagsalita. He just stared at us. Pabalik balik yung tingin nya between Ryan and me.

Si Ryan naman, he stilled as though preparing for a fight.

Eh ano ba naman tong topak ni Reeve? May pagkabipolar talaga eh! Sya na nga tong hindi sumipot sa lakad siya pa may ganang magalit? Aba, matindi!

The silence became irritating.

"We'll go ahead," sabi ko kay Reeve.

I grabbed Ryan's hand and dragged him towards the hotel's car. Ryan went inside the car and quickly started the engine. Nung nakaalis na kami sa hotel at malayong malayo na kay Reeve, tsaka lang ako nakahinga ng maluwag.

"Well, that was intense," Ryan said after a few more seconds of silence. Tama sya, intense was the perfect word to describe it. Pero hanggang ngayon, sobrang hindi ko pa din maintindihan yung reaksyon ni Reeve.

I just shrugged as reply to Ryan's statement.

"Feeling ko kanina, I'm trespassing as the other guy. Clearly, there's something between you two."

I sighed and closed my eyes. Kanina lang ang saya ko talaga. Ngayon, mukhang sasakit nanaman ang ulo ko. Sobrang ayoko talaga ng mga conversations na ganito eh. I always feel trapped.

"Si Reeve, best friend ko. Sa tingin ko ganun lang reaksyon niya kasi he thinks you'll be another Mike."

"Mike?"

"My ex. Kakabreak lang namin more than a week ago. He cheated on me with another girl. Dati pa ko winawarningan ni Reeve about him. And he said the same thing about you. He thinks you'll be another Mike."

"Ahh. Protective ang best friend mo ah. But in my case, hindi ko siya kilala and I doubt na kilala niya din ako to say stuff like that. Sorry but he doesn't have the right to judge."

I sighed. "Tama." Totoo naman eh. Ngayon lang sila nagkita tapos parang agad niyang sasabihin na mas malala pa kay Mike si Ryan? Medyo unfair nga yun para kay Ryan.
