CHAPTER 16
I stretched my arms and legs as far as I could. Then, I rolled over. Grabe yung gulat ko nung may nasipa ako.
I quickly removed my sleeping mask and tossed it away. I blinked several times so my eyes can adjust to the light filtering across the room. It was too bright!
"Goodmorning sunshine," a deep voice drawled.
I looked at the object I kicked and saw that it was a human. Stretched out beside me was Reeve. His head was propped up on his elbow and he lay on his side as he looked at me. His hair was still wet from the shower and he wore a simple white shirt.
Napatigil ako. Ayan nanaman siya, looking so perfect in the morning! And here I am, mukhang patay na daga na binitbit ng pusa.
"Reeve!" I hissed.
"I know. Not a morning person. Gotcha," he replied.
Umupo na siya and reached for something beside the bed. Pagkita ko, isa tong tumbler. Binuksan niya and the smell of coffee wafted over the room. Sa sobrang bango, naglaway ako agad.
Talaga palang kapag sinabi niyang 'noted' eh naaalala niya. Even the littlest details.
He held the coffee out to me but when I reached for it, nilayo din niya. "What?"
"Say: I forgive you, Reeve," he commanded with a cheeky grin.
Aba! I rolled my eyes.
"Buying me coffee doesn't automatically earn you your forgiveness."
"I know that. But maybe breakfast in bed would?"
He then reached for several things placed on the bedside table again. May isang napakalaking brown paper bag.
Reeve heard it and he grinned. He quickly handed me a fork.
"Dig in," he offered.
I quickly stuffed my mouth with a forkful of cake and several pieces of bacon. And just like I predicted, si Reeve naman kinakain na yung yogurt niya. Lamon muna.
Reeve ate while watching me.
"What?" tanong ko ulit. Ang uncomfortable ng tingin niya eh.
"It's just that I haven't seen any woman eat with as much enthusiasm as you."
Teka, insulto ba yun? Sinasabihan ba niya akong malakas kumain? Patay gutom?
"I see the way you think. It's not an insult, just a mere observation," he said in a defensive tone.
"Err. I guess that's because you're used to dating models," sagot ko.
"I like women who can appreciate their food better," sagot niya.
I just shrugged and started eating one of the croissants. Reeve also reached for one at pareho pa kami ng inabot. Our hands came in contact with one another at andun nanaman yung spark; yung feeling ng kuryente sa balat ko na bumababa sa buong katawan ko tuwing hinahawakan niya ko.
