Chapter 5
Like the day before, Sonia picked up Clary and drove them both to school. The mornings were getting colder and days were getting shorter. Bundled up in their winter gear, the girls stumbled through the front doors of the Mornington High.
After gathering the books and things they needed for that day, Sonia met up with the rest of the crew in the crew in homeroom. Thankfully, she hadn’t seen Theo yet and he wasn’t in homeroom either. But that didn’t last long, making her way to first period with her ear phones in and music up; Sonia was pulled roughly to the side out of the way of the stampeding students, who were all either scrambling to their lockers or to their first class.
“Let go! Who are you?!” Her kidnapper had removed the hand he had to her mouth after she had licked it. He let out a groan on disgust.
“Did you just lick me?” He asked astonished as he let go of the girl flailing in his arms. Had she not licked his palm, he would’ve found all of this quiet comical.
“That’s what you get for kidnapping me.” Sonia turned to face her assailant. “Oh, it’s you. Where were you in homeroom this morning?” She saw Theo’s face, making out his chiselling jaw line in the dim lighting, before her eyes made contact with this.
“Miss me that much, babe?”
“Shut up before I walk away.”
“Okay, sorry.” Theo flashed her a sheepish smile.
“You know, when most boys want to talk to a girl alone they don’t kidnap her. Take notes, Evans.” Sonia crossed her arms across the chest, it was getting chilly since the moving bodies had nearly emptied the hallway, and she was going to be late for her class now.
“I just wanted to say thanks.” Sonia raised an eyebrow. “For giving me a chance I mean.” He added quickly.
“Yeah sure, but you didn’t have to kidnap me. A bar of chocolate would’ve been nice though.” Sonia turned away hastily, she hated being late on its own, and she hated that Theo was the reason she could be late.
“Wait!”
“I can’t I’ll be late!”
“Okay but what do you like? Chocolate, I mean. I’ll make it up to you!”
“I like kit kat!” Sonia poked her head out of the doorway before walking into her class, giving him a cheeky grin. She loved kit kat.
Theo gave her a toothy grin back, before walking in the other direction towards his own class.

Jack, Keegan, Clary and Sonia sat down at one of the smaller tables in the cafeteria. Nat was a no show that day. Sonia was filling in the other of the things that went down between her and Theo the night before and earlier that day, since she hadn’t shared any classes with the group except of lunchtimes.
Jack and Keegan were laughing their heads off at another one of Clary’s vulgar jokes, while Sonia just shook her head in disgust, trying and failing to hide her smile.
Clary looked up behind Sonia’s head, beaming. Following her gaze, Jack and Keegan looked to see what that caught her undivided attention.
A tap on the shoulder to Sonia, who was too busy to notice what was happening behind her, she kicked her legs over her seat, turning around to Theo, standing in front of her smiling, his hands behind in back and rocking back and forth on his heels.
“Hello Sonia, Clary.” Clary rested her elbow on the table looking dreamily up at Theo while he gave a now of acknowledgement towards the boys.
“Hey, what brings you here?” Sonia asked coolly.
