Chapter 13 – Through Theo’s Eyes
“I know so, Sonia I’ve known you for not even a week and you’ve been the most forgiving yet freakishly violent person I have ever known. I’ve seen you work hard and you bring a joy to you-” Theo’s speech was cut short by Sonia’s lips on his, the slow, gentle feel of her lips moving against his. He didn’t hesitate to stop her. His hands trailed up her legs, resting on her waist before gently picking her up and moving her onto stop, so she straddled his hips, not once letting her lips leave. Her fingers ran through his hair, tugging at the roots making him go crazy. The once slow, gentle kiss intensified as he held onto her hips, pulling her ever so close, their bodied pressed against each other, balancing precariously so they don’t fall off the window seat.
The feel of her lips on his was like adding fuel to a fire. It ignited every cell in Theo and he felt it everywhere. Like any fire, he now lived off the fuel, he needed more. Their lips moved against each other in sync, a constant push and pull, she was waves and he guided her. But Theo’s moral compass was telling him to pull away. Yes, he had wanted this kiss since first seeing her, but it was born out of sadness. Talking about his brother’s death, Theo can’t help but feel it is his fault all over again. Getting the call again, the agony he felt in chest, the pressure, the immense feeling of suffocation.
“Soni…” His words came out as a heavy whisper, pulling away for a second. Her beautiful face was cradled in this hands, rubbing his thumbs across her cheeks.
“What’s wrong?” She bit her lips, sitting up off him, her hands travelling down his arms.
He looked up into her soft eyes, full of lust. They were so close he could feel her warm, ragged breath on his face. “I want this… but, when my t-shirt isn’t wet from your tears, darling…” He heard her giggle, it was so comforting, and he couldn’t stop himself from smiling down at her. He turned her around, so that her back was against him, and he held her for a while like that, in a comfortable silence. Sonia nuzzled her face in his neck, grabbing his hands and pulling them around her waist.
He kissed the top of her head, where her line meets her forehead. In his arms, he held one of the most beautiful people he has ever seen, let alone known. The feelings she gave him were beyond what he could ever imagine. Everything about her he loved.
There were two soft knocks on Sonia’s door. They sprung apart instantly, nearly tripping over their tangled limbs, standing awkwardly as Catherine poked her head in through the door.
“Hey kids, Jules told me you were over. It’s nice to see you again so soon, Theo. And Sonia, its nearly 6, you better get ready if you want to catch the movie, Brenda called me to tell you that Nat’s going over to Clary’s for dinner, she asked you to come as well.” Catherine disappeared as quickly as she came; Sonia flashed her mum a smile of thanks.
“You didn’t tell me you were going out with the girls tonight.” Theo turned towards her, scratching the back of his head, feeling sheepish. Sonia just flashed him a huge smile.
“You didn’t ask.” She giggled, walking past him towards her dresser. “Anyway, since you’re here, what should I wear?” She asked, pulling out a sheer black button down and the same loose grey knit she wore when he first saw her.
“I think go with the knit and wear the polka dot pants with your hair to the side. Even though I know you look beautiful in anything, I think this will make your eyes stand out more.” Theo took a seat on her bed watching her with complete adoration as she realised.
“That what I was wearing on Monday, when I bumped into you!” Sonia exclaimed, walking into her bathroom, closing the door behind her to get dressed.
