Chapter 16
"Nah. No way."
"Yes! I'm totally serious!"
"Nope. Thats messed up. That's what."
"Clary! Don't be so harsh. Its not like Theo could've helped it! The poor thing!" Sonia and Clary looked towards Nat, the poor girl looked to be on the verge of tears. Their empty coffe cups rested on the table in front them it. As pormised, Sonia had told the girls the truth about her and Theo, especially of their date last night. not bothering to leave out any details. Sitting around a table under an umbrella at Cafe on Collins on a Saturday morning, was something the girls did nearly every weekend before Sonia got less interested in going out. But now she was coming out of her shell, the others, Clary especially, could see this.
"How do you feel about it?" Nat pushed her cup and saucer to the middle of table, rested her head on her hands.
"Honestly... Its so overwhelming. I don't see myself without someone like Theo in my life now that he's here, but it makes me wonder whether or not I would've met him under any other circumstances." Sonia swirled the spoon around her empty cup, looking down. "I don't know how to feel. He makes me happy. But..." Clary and Nat, reached out a hand, one to Sonia's shoulder, the other to her hand. "I don't know what to think."
"Then don't." After a brief pause, Clary was the first one to speak up. "Don't think about it. It seems to me almost like you guys are meant to be. And that being said, if I'm right, which, I always am, you guys would've met anyways. So just go with the flow. I'm sure you both are blessed three times as much. You know, from there."
"I'm with Clary on this one." Nat signalled to the waiter, indicating for the bill, before the girls headed off. "You would've met Theo anyways. So don't worry."
Grabbing their bags, the girls stood up. "I'm not worried about us, I'm worried about him. You should've seen him last night... it was haunting, almost."
"Well then the best you can do is support him. Be there for him and stuff." Clary got behind the wheel, Sonia rode shot gun and Nat got into the back seat as the girls pulled out of the cafe car park and towards the mall.
"Ofcourse I'm gonna do that and stuff but there's only so much I can do. And why are we at the mall anyways I thought we're going back to mine for a Matthew McConaughey Marathon?" Sonia looked back at Nat, sitting there with a cheeky grin on her face, similiar to but not as big as Clary's.
"Soni, Soni Soni..."
"Uh oh."
"What cheaper, more fun and better than therapeautic stress relief classes? What makes a girl's knees weak more than the kisses of her loving boyfriend? What must a girl do in dire times to avoid stress pimples?" Clary spoke with authority, an all knowing smile etched onto her face. The girls looked towards each other before Sonia joined in.
"SHOPPING SPREEEEE!!!"
--
Three hours later, the girls collapsed in the doorway of Sonia's house, each carrying a generous amount of bags from various shops; H&M, Topshop, Bardot, and so on. Sonia bought herself a short sleeve, grey fitted dress with gathers on the side from H&M, a velvet hair bow and strappy heels to match to complete an outfit. Apparently the more fabulous the clothes, the better they make a girl feel.
"I haven't heard from Theo the whole day. Should I text him?" Sonia lifted her head up off the floor, her bags creating a halo around her torso.
"Yes but first lets get upstairs, dump all this shopping in your wardrobe and get ourselves some lovely iced tea? Yes? Okay." The muffled voice belonged to Clary, who was slowly gathering herself and heading up the stairs with Nat right on her heel. Clary boughter herself a sexy little black dress for a upsoming date night she had planned with Jack, at a high end bar. Apparently the waiting list was pretty lengthy and Jack had a few connections, so they managed to snatch a reservation for two. Nat herself, bought a cute outfit, something which she wouldn't usually buy but the blush on her cheeks gave it away, it was to impress a boy. She wouldn't say who, but Clary and Sonia couldn't wait. They had all agreed a few years ago that should they ever get a boyfriend at the same time, then they were tripple dating. After a few more giggles, the girls headed back to Sonia's.
