Santiago

I opened my eyes and was alarmed when I didn't feel Adora in my arms.

I jolted up, but I calmed down after I looked over to the side, and she was lying close to the edge of the mattress.

I gulped, raking my hands through my hair. I looked over at the clock on my nightstand, which read 7:34 A.M.

I looked back over at Adora. She was lying on her stomach, her arms folded under her cheek. Her plump lips were pouted out, her eyebrows in a soft furrow.

I couldn't help the smile that crept up onto my face. A wave of happiness had rushed over me last night when she held up her left hand, and her ring finger wasn't covered in a huge ring.

That happiness soon turned into desire, into need.

I furrowed my brows together down at her.

How was she so effortlessly beautiful?

Thoughts of last night flooded my mind- thoughts of what we'd done. Thoughts of the sounds that filled the air, thoughts of the many things Adora Franklin knew exactly how to do.

I couldn't help myself as my hand darted out towards her, my body instinctively moving closer to her. I rested a hand on her back, pressing a small kiss to her forehead before rolling out of bed.

I slipped into the bathroom quietly, grabbing some sweatpants and underwear from the top of my closet. I brushed my teeth and turned off the light, opening the door. I leaned against the threshold, folding my arms over my chest.

I'd always loved watching her sleep. She looked so content while she was asleep.

I pursed my lips together and sighed. She really was stunning.

I heard her shift around in bed, her arms going up above her head as she yawned. The covers slipped from her chest, exposing her bare breasts.

I smiled and she looked over at me.

A silence enveloped us, but it wasn't awkward. Her eyes boring into mine, vise versa.

"Good morning," she greeted, biting down on her bottom lip.

I could tell she was nervous. Adora was basically an open book, and I'd learned how to read her.

"Morning," I replied casually, slipping under the covers with her. I threw my arm over her middle, nestling my head in the crook of her neck. "Did you rest?"

She bit down on her bottom lip and grasped the back of my neck. "Y-yeah," she responded, "I rested well."

I smiled and peppered kisses to her silky skin, my hand sliding up her stomach and to her chest.

"D-did you rest?" She asked.

I nodded. "Why are you stuttering?"

"I guess you just make me nervous," she responded.

I pulled her on top of me, lying on my back.

"Don't let me make you nervous," I said.

She looked down at me, tucking a chunk of hair behind her ear.

I grasped her hips, sliding my hands down her legs and back up them. My hands then went up her sides and to her chest, covering her bare breasts.

She bit down on her bottom lip and leaned down, flipping her hair over her shoulder as she kissed my neck.

"You have a shirt I could borrow?" She asked, her fingertips lightly grazing my chest.

She trailed her lips down my neck and to my chest, her bottom lip dragging across my skin as she looked up at me.

"Yeah," I whispered, "I do, but you don't need the shirt right now."

And with that, I flipped us over.

Adora

I raised my arms above my head with a satisfied sigh, my lips pulling up into a grin.

Santiago had already gone downstairs to make breakfast, and I was left in his huge bed.

It was scary how well things were going. It was almost like five years hadn't passed, and we were still doing what we were good at doing- consoling eachother.

I sat up in bed and hugged the sheet to my chest, pursing my lips together as I looked around his huge master bedroom.

Nightstands and tables covered in pictures of him and the boys, or just the boys.

I smiled.

I got out of bed and stretched, never feeling the need to put on any clothes. I walked into his bathroom and bit down on my bottom lip, trailing my fingertip along the countertop.

You and Santiago have had sex here before.

My eyes widened at the thought. I quickly pulled my hand away from the counter, walking over to his closet. I slid the glass doors open and walked inside, grinning. What man needed this many clothes?

I trailed my fingers along the sleeves of every single shirt of his. He had them assorted by color- the whites were in the front, leading into the nudes, leading into the darker colors.

Santiago King was an organized man.

I picked out a light blue shirt, slipping it on over my shoulders. It basically swallowed me whole and fit me like a dress, so I didn't worry about pants.

I grabbed my underwear from the side of the bed and slipped them on, turning off his bedroom light before jogging downstairs.

I hugged the column at the bottom of the staircase, leaning my head against it as I waited on his focus to move away from the breakfast he was cooking and to me.

He eventually rubbed his forehead and his eyes moved over to me, trailing down me. His hand rubbed across his jawline, his lips in a grin.

I bit down on my bottom lip and walked over to him, leaning against the counter. He turned the stove off and walked over to me, grasping my hips.

No words, his lips immediately moved to my neck, his hands gliding all over my body. I cocked my head over and let out a soft moan, digging my fingers into his shoulder blades.

He smiled and pulled away from me, leaning against the fridge. His focus went from me to behind me, a small smile on his face.

"Morning, boys."

My eyes widened and I felt my jaw drop. My temples felt like ice was being stuck to them.

I turned around and there they were.

My lips parted yet again as I looked for the right words to say.

Sorry I was so loud last night?

Their focus immediately went to me and soon enough, both pairs of arms were wrapped around my waist.

"I got to her first," Josiah said through gritted teeth, shoving Fred out of the way.

"Hey," I said, shaking my head down at them, "I have enough room for two."

Freddy just shot Josiah an accomplished smile, wrapping his arms around my waist.

Santiago smiled at them and chuckled.

"What are you doing back, Addy?" They exclaimed, making me purse my lips together. I just smiled as I looked back at Santiago.

He puckered his lips out. "Addy's going to be coming around more often."

"Seriously?" They exclaimed.

"Yes!" I exclaimed with them, making them laugh.

"Adds, guess what!" Freddy exclaimed, "Jo and I have a soccer game on Thursday."

"You guys play soccer?" I asked, "that's awesome!"

They nodded. "We're really good, too!"

"Did your dad teach you to have that ego?" I teased, making Santiago chuckle.

"I taught them to know when they're good at something and when they're not."

I just nodded, my bottom lip jutted out.

"Who's ready to eat?" He asked.

"Me!" The boys yelled at the same time.

And we all sat down at the table and ate breakfast together.

Adora

I couldn't avoid Santiago's piercing gaze.

So, I finally looked over at him, sighing.

My eyes darted down to his lips, my own pulling into a grin. "Stop staring me down."

He smiled and looked back at the TV.

"What is it?" I asked, pursing my lips together as I pulled my knees up to my chest.

He paused the movie. "What's your plan?"

I cocked an eyebrow up at him.

"I'm not expecting you to just pick up and move in with me," he said, shaking his head.

I parted my lips. Truth was, I didn't really have a plan.

"Yeah, I'm not," I said, biting down on my bottom lip, "I'll probably get an apartment or something."

"I mean," he said, "you're welcome to move in, I just wasn't sure if that was your plan or not, considering you came back last night."

I chuckled, raking my fingers through my hair. "I don't really have a plan. I'm all over the place, you know that as well as anyone."

He nodded, his eyebrows shooting up.

We sat in a silence for a few minutes before he looked back over at me. "You didn't break his heart, did you?"

I shook my head. "Actually, no, he was feeling the same way."

He flexed his jaw muscle and nodded. "Good."

"You know," I said, scooting closer to him, "you make yourself out to be some monster. But you're a great man, Santiago."

He looked down at me and smiled. "The boys are getting older," he said, "I'm trying to make myself a good example for them."

I smiled and rested my head on his bulky arm. "You've always been a good man."

He wrapped his arm around my shoulders, making me rest my head on his chest.

"You know," he said, "I don't like missing people."

I bit down on the inside of my cheek.

"And you made me miss you, you know?"

I wrapped my arm around his middle, pursing my lips together. "Yeah, I know."

I sat up eventually and he looked over at me. "You got to give me some validation," he said, shaking his head, "some kind of something to let me know that you're going to be around for a while."

I couldn't help my head from cocking over, my eyes turn into puppy dog eyes as I looked into his. I'd never seen Santiago want anyone to stay around.

I wrapped my arms around his neck, smiling against his lips. "I don't really plan on going anywhere."

His lips touched mine slightly, his hand moving down my side slowly but surely. "Pack a bag. Stay here for a while, you can worry about an apartment later. Bring the clothes that you wear."

I smiled against his lips. "Okay, Santiago."
