Adora
I grabbed the glass of wine Santiago poured for me, my head still in my palm.
He grabbed my thigh. "What's wrong?"
I shook my head over at him, clearing my throat. I took a sip of my wine and placed it on the table beside me.
His hand inched further up my bare thigh, his lips pulling into a grin. "You are a terrible liar."
I sighed and looked over at him. "Derek had literally all of my stuff packed up."
His jaw muscle flexed, his hand moving away from my thigh. "And that's a problem why?"
I bit down on my bottom lip and crawled over closer to him, my hands on his broad, muscular shoulders.
"I told you I wasn't going to just pick up and move in," I said, "I was going to get an apartment, and move my stuff from the old place into an apartment after I got it all packed up."
He nodded, taking another drink of his wine.
"I'll find an apartment," I whispered, resting my chin on his shoulder.
"I really don't want you to, though," he said, chuckling as he raked his hand through his hair, "I don't want to be constantly worried about you. I want to know you're safe, and safe with me."
I pursed my lips together. "Santiago, it's been two days."
"I don't really think that matters," he said.
"I just don't want to rush into something," I said, sitting down to face him, grabbing his hand.
"We've had this going on for six years, baby," he whispered, "we're not rushing into anything."
I couldn't help my heart rate from speeding up, my lips pulling into a grin.
"All the people," he muttered, his fingertips brushing mine, "all the one night stands, all the commitments, those never matched us."
I nodded, my breath becoming more labored.
He smiled and rested his head against the cushion behind him. "You're going to have to get used to me again."
"I'm used to you," I stuttered out.
"Really?" He asked, "because you can barely talk around me."
I flexed my jaw muscle and grinned.
"Come sit on papi's lap," he said, grabbing my hand.
I couldn't help myself as I threw my leg over his, my lips attaching to his. I raked my hands through his hair, my hips moving against his.
Santiago and I were currently in the honeymoon stage that everyone talked about- the stage where you simply just can't keep your hands off of eachother.
Our intense make-out session was cut short by the doorbell, making Santiago mumble a curse word. I climbed off of his lap and he stood up. I trailed my eyes down him and my eyes focused on his slight erection, and I bit down on the inside of my bottom lip.
He walked to the door and I heard the boys barreling inside.
"Hey, dad!" They greeted, dropping their backpacks by the door.
"Hey, Addy!" They greeted, running over to me to give me a hug. I smiled and hugged them tight to me.
"How were your days?" I asked.
"Good!" They answered.
I smiled, but my smile faded when I heard a familiar voice.
"Yeah. Just bring them over on Friday night if you want."
